Location: God's country | I am looking for opinions on a good cross for this mare. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/marchalena Sorry I can't make the link live. Hopefully someone smarter than me can do that, LOL. Anyway she's 15 hands, stout built mare. Finished penner who has had a career ending injury. Her back is aallmmoosst long. So a stallion who is long-backed isn't an option. It's my mother-in-law's horse and she is wanting to get a foal to send to the barrel pen. She's very quick on her feet. Her size is fine, but a little taller would be fine also. Preferably no shorter. All of my broodmares are running bred, so I'm a little out of my comfort zone with her. Any opinions are welcomed. Probably $1500 budget. |

Doc O'lena with A Streak of Fling. Not $1500, but there's one heading to NFR. So, Doc O'lena on Streak Six is my vote. |

Location: God's country | El Scorcho is definitely nice. Love his bottom side. I know the cowbreds have crossed well on A Streak Of Fling but his back length with hers would be a concern. I'll look at the other ASOF you mentioned. Not familiar with him. Yes resale is always a concern. Her mare is a plain jane bay. No white, so color would be a plus but not a deal breaker.

| But seriously that horse needs some run crossed on it. Streakin Six, Tinys Gay are a perfect cross for that horse. You dont have to spend $1500 to still end up with a super nice prospect. In my opinion there are plenty of $1500 that are way overpriced. El Scorcho puts the size, conformation and brain into his foals. I can't wait to have mine in 2016.

Location: NE Texas | Totally agree on the El Scorcho......not to mention that not only do you get the Streakin Six/Tinys Gay run and balanced body but these babies by El Scorcho are SOOOOOO great minded and just accept everything you throw at them. I have a yearling now (pic attaced) and am about to get a 2 YO. Would take a dozen more if I could!
