| IRunOnFaith - 2014-11-26 4:05 PM I have seen a lot of girls with younger and older horses using Loomis Gags and off brand Loomis' to warm up in and practice in. But most of them actually run in a snaffle that is so tight the horses mouth has two or three wrinkles.... What's up with this?? I'm no bit expert. Help me out:
What does a Loomis Gag Do?
When do you use them?
Why do you use them?
ETA: I suck at spelling.
I like my Loomis to soften one laterally. I will put it on about everything at one time or another, get the results I want and then move on. I use it on a really ratey horse I have right now to run in, he wanted to brace a little against my hand if I had to handle him in a run, so I went back to the Loomis and get a lot more 'give'. |
