Women are fully capable of doing the same jobs and skills that any man can do. This questions is like asking if men should be nurses, of course they should and can be. What exactly are you looking for in asking this question?

uhm, yes there are! A couple of friends of mine are c.o.'s. And they are darn good at it!! Sorry, but I think this is a bit of an insulting question.... There are not many jobs that cannot be done by women! And this is not one of them.

If a friend of mine who's 5 foot on a good day/90 lbs and a female cop can take down a 250 lb man on a pursuit and he try to file charges on her for "roughing him up". Lol I'm pretty sure women can handle themselves in correction facilities. Plus I've seen some more manly women than some men!!

I have a friend that went to work where the arrested people were booked in at the jail. She is small and got the heck beat out of her several times until she quit. This was a years ago and maybe it is better now,

No sure where your going with this but...
It's not a matter of should there be female corrections officers. It's a matter of There has to be female corrections officers. By law a female can not be patted down or searched of any form by a male officer. But I think the patted down part is a little "iffy" in regards to the law. If I'm correct if you get arrested before you are transported to a jail you can be patted down for weapons by a male unless you specifically ask for a female. When a female are taken to a jail and strip searched it has to be from a female officer. No ifs ands or buts about. So that being said, females most defiantly should be correctional officers. Same laws apply to men.

It doesn't have much to do with gender or size. It has a lot to do with how you carry yourself and how capable you are.
What is your opinion?
