My style of tying, i liked my string coiled. It always hung from my rearview mirror. I used the same goat string from 11th grade through college. Competition and practice. I got it when i was 11 years old and it was used then. Won a lot with that string! :) Bottomline... its personal preference, whatever works for you :)

 Tube. It keeps them straight. Very few college goat tyers use cans anymore. Goat times just keep getting faster and faster so they must be doing something right.

Personal Preference but I used to use a can in middle school and part way through hs and then started using a tube in hs and college and liked it much more.
