Location: Flat Rock,IL | My husband heard this little kitten crying last night, so he gives it some food to eat. This morning me and my daughter try to trap it, had no luck, it would get close then run away from you. It is a little pretty kitten, all white with blue eyes. We think it's deaf! and I'm pretty sure it is, when I went to the barn to feed, it was sleeping and never woke up till i got close to it and touched it. |

Location: Texas | A large percentage of white cats with blue eyes are deaf. I had one when I was in high school that I dearly loved. She went everywhere with me. Loved to ride in the car. Not afraid of the vacuum. I loved that cat. |

Location: Kansas | I have a brown Cocker Spaniel and a Red Heeler. Cocker appeared to have been thrown out a car window into the ditch in front of our house. He was very sore and scared. Heeler came to the house and it took me days to catch him.....he was so afraid. I love them both but my first choice would have been an Aussie. Animal dumpers gave me no choice but Max and Patch found a home for life. |

Location: N Texas | We get dogs dumped out by our house all the time. A while back, my sister was over and watched a truck stop and dump out a dog. She jumped in her truck and took off after them while calling 911. The police came and found the truck and started questioning them. They started making up excuses and lies about not dumping it even though my sister saw it with her own eyes. Supposedly they were going to take it to the shelter or something but they couldn't find it or they were closed.
They put the dog back in their truck, but I'm sure they dumped it off somewhere else. |

Location: Texas | We live on a dead end road. If you come down our road it is for a reason. One night 17 years ago, we were standing out by the shop when a car came down the road, turned around and left pretty quickly. As we stood out there talking, here come a small black kitten. Needless to say, today she is a morbidly obsese house cat. My husband thinks there was another kitten dumped also that would not come to us. People need to think. They may be thinking that are giving them a chance, but in our area the coyotes will snap up cats and dogs in a heartbeat. It is like a free lunch for them. |

We have lots of coyotes around here. We live on a gravel road and woods all around our place, that's what I was scared of, that a coyote would get her. |

Being white, she would not have had a chance. |

| People who dump animals are so cruel and cold hearted. I can't stand that. The poor animal didn't do anything to deserve that! God bless all that help those that are dumped! The kitten is adorable. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | That's how I got my bloodhound. Her entire litter was dumped on our road and a car hit the box... She was laying with all her dead siblings. She didn't say a word when my friend opened the box. Just looked up at me, looked around her, and kept trying to get up to our faces. She licked my face and I couldn't give her up. She had a broken hip but she's the best puppy I've ever had. Very sweet and quiet. Except when she snores in her sleep. I love that dog. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | We live adjacent to the National Forest. I can't count the number of poor animals dumped out here. Some are too scared to come to us and likely end up coyote food. In the past year we have taken in a pregnant female cat (found the little kittens homes and spayed her), another kitten that has earned house cat status due to being adorable and more like a dog, a possibly beagle cross that my SO's parents kept and spayed, and a female Border collie/Lab/Spaz cross that we spayed and love dearly despite her over enthusiasm for basically everything and her desire to chew everything she sees.
We already had 3 barn cats, two 13year old heelers, and one weenie pup. We honestly can't take in any more and I dread seeing the next dumped creature on our doorstep.
We were planning to get a bloodhound once the two old heelers leave us...but now we have Ellie...and may need those spots to take in other poor dumped pups.

| I was getting my hair cut by a young 20ish girl who still lived at home. Making small talk and started talking about our animals. In the conversation she said "I wish my parents would get ours spayed because they keep getting pregnant and you have to go dump the puppies", like it was a nomal activity everyone did- no shame or embarrassment. I told it was not what everone did and there were other options- she just looked at me with a blank stare. |

Oh lord...I'd have smacked that girl and given her a much needed education as to what usually happens to dumped puppies!
Either she has no empathy or she is dumber than a bag of hammers. |
