| Since it hasn't aired just yet on TV, I won't say who won, but it was someone who has never won a round at the NFR before! According to Steve & Jolee on Prorodeolive.com the ground seemed to be a little deeper and trickier than in years past and gave some people a bit of trouble. Can't wait to watch! |

| I just looked at the results on prorodeo.com and thought the ground must have played a factor in the difference in the times tonight from recent years. I'm impatient. I always look at the results before it actually airs. LOL The PRCA website is updated as it actually happens in real time.

Yeah, the ground didn't look great tonight, but that was a good run by Fallon and Baby Flo. Sure seemed like a lot of downed barrels though. I'm ready for round 2!!! |

Annnndddd, we don't need to see "coverage" of a tipped barrel... Not sure if it's just me, but did anyone else notice the camera target in on the tipped barrel each time? Overall coverage is way better than I thought it would be. |

I'm sure we are all aware of what a downed barrel looks like!
And the ground...... Oh my they all tried. I give them props |

I know, it is the worst I have seen it. So many slips and stumbles, I hope no one gets hurt. Seems like the horses couldn't dig and push on that mess. Hope it gets better for the barrel racers. |

I'm usually not a ground nazi, but it was bad last night. I hope they work on it. I know rodeo is rodeo and that's what separates the rodeo horses from the jackpot horses, but dang.... do they make the guys at the Superbowl play in a field with 4 foot high grass? NO!
I do wish they have better commentary, and I hate they are giving us close ups of down barrels. With all my complaining, I am still glad I am able to watch it on TV. |

It is a good thing those horses have seen junk ground before or several would have gone down. After the first few I was holding my breath for each horse & rider hoping they made it around safely. Fingers crossed that the ground improves for the rest of the NFR. It is no fun to run on bad ground but that is definitely what separates the cream of the crop rodeo horses from the rest. |

she has two 6yr old mares, both A Streak of Fling bred. I think both have only been to a couple rodeos, so it was very impressive to see that mare work as well as she did! I believe she rode Lolo but don't quote me on that. I'm excited to see how she will be running come the 5ht or 6th round. Great job! |

Yes! ^^ It's a shame that when you travel all year with the goal of running at this event you have to worry about the ground. This shouldn't be the case when you work so hard to get there all year around |

The only time I noticed the lines in the boxes was when the view was from above and it was in between events .... made me wonder if they raked the boxes between events.
When we were there in 2008, we sat right above the boxes ... they were never worked but didn't look bad at all either. |

I think Butch and Jeff do a good job!! They only have what 14 seconds per person to talk about them. My goodness how much could you really say in that amount of time without sounding like you were just reading your lines out of a book. I guess those who always complain about them should mute the TV and see how well you do in that amount of time. I thought the entire NFR went really fast last night...faster than what I remember. I am sure the camera angles will improve. I too am thankful for the showing of all 15 runners and the interview of the winner! |

| I was glad it showed all 15. I like Butch and Jeff. Yes they sound like a broken record, but oh well. There just isn't much time to talk like the other events when we wait on everything to fall into place. I watch WPRA Today often and the commentary isn't any better and it is a barrel racer discussing taped footage. In 13-14 seconds what would we want them to really say? I was so glad there wasn't a game on before it started so it could start on time. I haven't looked at their schedule. I sure hope there are no games before the NFR for the next 9 performances. |

And there was some funky lines in it that were never messed up... The only time I noticed the lines in the boxes was when the view was from above and it was in between events .... made me wonder if they raked the boxes between events. When we were there in 2008, we sat right above the boxes ... they were never worked but didn't look bad at all either.
The lines in the box are shadows from the panels. |
