| They better get in there and fix that ground! The ground has been pretty nice the last 3 or so years, but this year is one of the worst I can remember. The camera angles tonight really showed the trouble with the ground.

Location: Texas!! | I'm with you RealityCheck! On an average night maybe 3 hit, but over half?! 8 girls on rodeo horses, on rodeo ground.... From what I could see from my couch.... LOL! Most of them hit leaving a barrel because of a slip in the back end of the horses. It's sad, to be so excited to make it there, then the ground could be career ending for your horse. I hope they get it fixed for the next 8 rounds! Other than that, I'm happy with the coverage and commentating! |

Location: The South | Can we start a petition or something and contact someone in charge of the ground?? I watched Fallon's run in slow motion and her slip going into first made my stomach flip. I don't know how Baby Flo stayed upright. This is ridiculous. All of the commentators mentioned how bad the ground was multiple times! Can we do something?? Get an email address of someone important over there? |

Location: Texas | I have never been one to complain about ground but holy moly... that ground definitely is horrid. Every horse had a hard time with it; they were slipping around the back side of barrels and simply not getting the traction that those horses need. Let's hope that the powers that be whom are in control of the ground have this issue fixed tonight. |

The WPRA website stays updated pretty well. http://www.wpra.com/nfr_results_2014_rd2.asp

In last night round win interview Lisa Lockhart was asked about the ground. She said the horses were all having trouble with it. She said she didn't know why it was like that. She said didn't know if they had added more sand this year or what. Me- I hope they soak the darn thing, pack it, and start over.

| I hope the power of social media garners some changes for the girls in the ground conditions.
That said, I understand they are an invited entity being WPRA and don't want to rock the boat, but if I was one of the 15 having to make the decision of running my good horse on that...well there would be a meeting in my hotel room where hopefully all 15 of us would attend. And I would have 15 ponies lined up for everyone to draw out of a hat. That's what we would be running until the ground was fixed, it would still be good watching:) |

| I have attended both perfs 7 rows up at first barrel. First night ground was crap. Last night ground was not bad. Not great, but not dangerous. Just slow. Way better than a lot of rodeo ground these ladies have run on thruout the year to make the NFR. |

That is a good idea. Or all 15 go in a LOPE the barrels. But, it wouldn't work cause there are too many who want to win. They will run regardless of the concequences.
Rnd 1, 5 hit barrels Rnd 2, 8 hit barrels. What does that tell ya'?

| It definitely takes the fun out of it... its hard to watch. I think that Nancy Hunter's horse seems to be handling it pretty well. he seems more "floaty" and I wonder if that's saving him a bit. He's a cool horse to watch, I've never seen him run before. Rootie had a nice run both rounds but she's not clocking either.
What I think is kinda awesome though is Stingray... just because I am more familiar with her style I can see the changes. She is definitely changing her method a bit, shes coming off 1 a bit wider than normal but seems to be avoiding that slick spot. Or maybe Sherri is doing it but either way its kinda cool (being optimistic) to see those adjustments. |

Location: Willows, CA | I was there on Thursday. When they did the Grand Entry that first night you could not see across the inside of the building because of all the dust. It took an hour for the air to clear. I have never been in there with the dust that bad. Very very dry. I hope the get a handle on it tonight, and that no horses get hurt.

So this guy has nothing to do with the ground? He was just joking about working the ground today? |
