| Ground must have been a bit better tonight and stayed a little more even throughout the round. While yes it was not good the past 2 nights, there were still girls that clocked 13's on it, they just got barrels leaving them which happens when you are running fast and tight.

Location: Friendswood, Texas | I'm all for wearing helmets for safety but I'm curious if Fallon was wearing one to also make a statement about the ground? Either way, was that a first? I was still glad to see it. Lots of riders (and young ones, at that) are watching her. Bravo. |

Location: Up and over to the right | IMHO I see it as a publicity stunt of sorts. I'm a helmet advocate and always wear one regardless of what I'm doing. I'm glad she put one on to promote safety but I have a feeling it won't stay on her head for more than a night. If she does I'll eat my words but my (biased) opinion is such. |

I was thinking the same thing. I am a helmet wearer myself and was very happy to see someone at the NFR sporting one as well.
However, I am also going to believe it will be a one-time thing ... unless she proves me wrong and wears one the next 7 rounds. In that sense, I feel like it may have been a fashion statement (as her outfit matched her helmet) rather than a safety statement.
I guess we'll see! |

| Judging by what she posted on FB, it sounds like she's trying to get as many statements made in 10 nights as she can, so the helmet might be a 1 time thing. That's fine, at least she proved that it can be cool to wear one. |

Location: Sweet Home Alabama | Not barrel related, but Bama cowboy Kyle Irwin won steer wrestling with a 3.2. Only .2 off the arena record, & it's only the 3rd round!!! The rodeo community down here is buzzing over it. Pretty neat.
Edited to say he also split the second round win. He's reppin us well.

Location: North Dakota | A helmet goes on my head before I even get the horse out of the pasture. I don't take it off until the horse goes back in the pasture. I have been riding for 40 years and can say even the best horses have accidents. I have had a horse throw its head to the side and luckily I had on a helmet so it just knocked me to the side instead of knocking me out cold!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am also the person in front of you who drives below the speed limit!!! |

Where? I only find Wpra standings before the finals.
Also, I still don't understand how the new season can start when the previous season has not been decided yet. |

The results are listed under the Wrangler NFR links on both websites. The WPRA has their links down midway on their home page. There are several links under the WNFR logo. The PRCA has their WNFR link as a tab at the top.
The season is from October to the end of September of the next year. So it will be October 2014-September 2015. Then the finals for the season of October 2013-Setember 2014 of course being held now in December. http://www.wpra.com/nfr_standings_2014.asp
