| Andrea Cline or Jan Powell in Hungerford. Jan is one of the best hands in Texas and brings a horse along nice and slow. She has numerous winners out there that she has trained, a few are reformed blown up horses brought to her by clients and she was able to get tehm back working.

She may not have the designer name "yet" but I can tell you this, you will come home with a nicely patterned horse that is not blown up, crippled or starved and you can take straight to the pen to make a run on. And it will be HER riding it and not the token stall boy/ girl that you may get at some bigger names. ( been there done that)
She has started three of mine this year and I am one extremely picky person when I send a horse out to be trained. I have never been happy until I found her.

Location: Bandera, TX | Kelly Allen, Special K on here. Has a great program for younger horses. I however, think she will be hitting the standings and should make the NFR on the great mare she trained last year. I've seen her ride at the top since she was nine years old.
Andrea too!
But both should send the youngsters home and make attempts at the NFR this year. |

| A little less well-known but has had some AMAZING horses come out of her program, (including Michelle Mcleod's back up horse Disco), Monica McClung! I've known her pretty well my entire life and the girl is definitely a hand. She's got some rockets running at the BFA this week (including one in the super stakes slot race) and I look for her to do big things there! |

PS...I second Herbie, she's pretty darn good.
This is surprisingly hard to find! As much as I would like to say that sarcasically, it's not. Take a walk down some of the barn aisles at those futurities. There are a fair share of horses, with BIG name people, that look really undercared for. Thin, stalls don't look like they've been cleaned all week, dirty water, etc. At places like the BFA this week a lot of them bring in extra help so stuff gets taken care of, but if you have seen them at an "average" size futurity, you'll know what I mean. I'm sure others know what I'm talking about!
Way too many stories of horses going off to be trained and coming back half starved. Obviously those monthly training fees didn't go towards grain or hay... |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I have a friend down in the Rio Granda Valley here in Texas and she is an amazing horse women and she can train nice nice horses, thats who I would send another horse too and trust her to take care of them and she does take care of outside horses like they were her own, Kristy your one of the best out there.  |

Location: Too far from home | I would guess it would depend on where you live and what you want to accomplish with the colt. If you want to go to a bunch of futurities and sell it later, I'd say Jolene or Molli Montgomery. If you'd like to stay local you can find many good trainers that just don't haul as much. Good luck! Such a fun (but nerve wracking) time starting a new project! |

Total performance....a lot of my current colts success is a direct result of YOUR program and the great job you did with him while he was in race training! I know without a doubt that the experience he gained with you has been instrumental in the success he will hopefully have in the future! Thank you so much for everything and Ricky loves his auntie!!! :)
LRQHS.....what can I say....I'm so in love with El Scorcho and the babies he is producing that I now have 2 at my house. To say I'm excited about the future for these colts would be an enormous understatement!!!! We're squeezing the juice, buddy!
Now, to answer the question asked by the OP, I would have to say Gunnar Enlow. He has recently taken over the reins to what I consider the most talented colt I have ever had the pleasure of starting......and also the most aggravating. I have never sent a horse out to anyone for anything other than to be broke or to go to the race track, but this colt was just too talented to sit through the winter while I'm unable to ride with the futurities right around the corner. After much discussion with my family and friends I sent my colt to Gunnar with the hopes he saw as much talent in him as I did while "appreciating" the things that make him a challenge and Gunnar has done just that and more. I admit I get more nervous and have more anxiety with him making a run on him than if I were doing it myself but at the end of the day I know that he is in absolutely the right place and I picked the perfect person to do what I am unable to with a full time job and other obligations this time of year.

| If you want to compete on the horse after, I suggest finding someone who rides similar to you this will make the transition easier.
If you are looking at futurity and selling or promoting for gain then I would try to get into the most successful trainer I can afford. I would also consider the horses personality and behaviour to ensure the trainer will compliment it, as there is a lot of money wasted when horses and trainers don't click.
