My new horses loves a draw bit... I have one but it is home made, which cause me to be scarred to trust it enough to run in it. ?? I just bough an NRS brand one so that way it's a little more solid. Do they make something so I can run a draw but on a regular headstall?
Running roan makes rope cheek pieces that fit on a regular headstall. I use the Dutton draw gags with the ropes. I've also made my own with piggin strings. I love the draw gags.
You might try an April Yeager bit Heres her website. http://www.aprilyeager.org/#!untitled/cfgv Anybody that makes custom tack can make cheek pieces. I have the April Yeager bit and had cheek pieces made and put it on a nylon headstall. Works great !!! She's on FB too
Has anyone tried the Sherry Cervi draw gag? I scored one the other day at a Pawn shop. I couldn't pass it up for $35.00. And it is in really good shape!

A Jarrett is a different feel, different bit. I use those too. Running Roan and probably some others take rope and sew on buckles on one end and a loop on the other to put a draw gag on.
