Ecclesiastes 7:8-18 The end of the thing is better than its beginning; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools. Do not say, "Why were the former days better than these?" For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. Wisdom is good with an inheritance, and profitable to those who see the sun. For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it. Consider the work of God; for who can make straight what He ahs made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but the day of adversity consider; Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, so that man can find out nothing that will come after him. I have seen everything in my days of vanity; There is a just man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who prolongs life in is wickedness. Do not be overly righteous, nor be overly wise; why should you destroy yourself? DO not be overly wicked, nor be foolish; Why should you die before your time? It is good that your grasp this and also not remove your hand from the other; for he who fears God will escape them all.
How true it is as we go through life to focus on our life's journey.
FOCUS ON THE FINISH; The end of the thing is better than its beginning. One of the seven habits of highly effective people is to " begin with the end in mind." It is not how you start but how you finish that counts that is true both in racing and in life.
FOCUS ON THE FACTS: Do not say, Why were the former days better than these? For you do not inquire wisely concerning this The fact is we must live for today, not pine for yesterday. If you are living for God and in the center of His will, these are the good old days.
FOCUS ON THE FATHER: Consider the work of God; for who can make straight what He has made crooked? In the day prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider; surely God has appointed the one as well as the other. In the good times and the bad, God is in control of all things. Keep your mind fixed on Him and live and die knowing that you will never be forsaken and you will be protected.

Thank you for this. This year has been less then stellar on numerous different levels around our house. It seems like 1 step forward results in 5 steps back. Have tried our hardest to keep our heads up and keep moving forward. We have been beyond blessed to have our youngest taken care of by my mother in law. After a health scare over the weekend, my husband and I decided it best ( for our child) to look into daycares. I have been overwhelmed with the costs I have been quoted. I know it's the right decision, but the extra $550/month that we are going to have to somehow find ....... is daunting. So thank you for reminding me that it's ok to cry out to God asking for peace and calmness in what we face, because he always has a plan.
