What time of the year do you plan on traveling? Depending on when you come to KY, you can visit Churchill Downs or Keeneland. Keeneland is just a few miles from the Horse Park. While in Lexington you can visit a lot of Thoroughbred farms like Claibourne, Three Chimneys, etc. Those tours book months in advance so I would start planning now. The bourbon trail is also really neat and there are quite a few distillerys near or in Lexington. |

Location: Oklahoma | Check out southwest. They are pretty cheap when you book the flight a ways out. Plus there are no fees if you have to change your flight. |

it won't let me look for a flight past July on their website. |

| Allegiant air flies right into lexington airport which is right next to Keenland. Allegiant is CHEAP!
Keenland races are in April and October. They are great. |

Street Rod Nationals and the State Fair are held in August, so just heads up that flights may increase in price because of that.
I would also check Priceline and those types of sites. You can look 11 months in advance via those sites. |

Location: Oklahoma | Idk if Spirit Airlines flies there, but if they do, they are really cheap....BUT you get what you pay for. It's called an airbus, and that's what it's like....riding the bus. You're crammed in there with your knees hitting the seat in front of you. Forget getting up to go to the bathroom....it's impossible in that packed thing unless it's a real emergency. BUT, it only cost me $150 to fly from GA to OK. And with the rebate from getting a Priceline card, it ended up only costing me $50. I can be cramped for a couple of hours to save $300! lol Get on Priceline.com and put in where you want to go and when, and then just scroll through your choices....I bet you find some cheap rides. |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | Keep tabs on onetravel.com I dont know how far out they go but they are a good site that keeps tabs on deals on almost all airlines. As an FYI, you have to keep tabs on southwest yourself as they don't participate in second vendors like priceline, onetravel, etc.
A place that keeps tabs on all of them is airfarewatchdog.com. You can sign up for their email lists and you can put in the dates and where you are flying and they will send you emails of when those flights are going on sale. airfarewatchdog and onetravel are pretty handy. I get those emails all of the time as I travel quite a bit. |

Location: Oklahoma | My last two flights have been with Spirit. They are the cheapest if you don't care where you sit and don't have much luggage. They charge for all bags (except your personal item) and their bag weight limit is 40lbs.
My next choice is Southwest if they fly where you want to go. |

I book a TON of flights every year and they are by far the cheapest overall and the guys prefer to fly with them over anyone else. Plus you get one checked bag free.

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | clover-not to disagree with you but I book a lot of flights every year too (Just booked two this morning). I think it really depends on where you are going. I flew a few weeks ago and am flying out again this weekend and both times I checked southwest over the other airlines and both times Southwest was over $100 more each way than any other flight I could find. I really think it is regional, hence why I watch so many places to make sure I am getting a good deal.
Also, oddly enough, sometimes I can book a cheaper flight by flying out of my hometown and taking a connector from a major airport than just flying direct from the major airport. Weird I know but again, that is why I watch so many different places. |

Location: Phoenix | I always fly Southwest. You can check 2 bags for free! You can also cancel your flight (but you get reimbursed in points so the $$ has to stay with SW but I think that's convenient). The customer service is great....I've never had any issues.
Allegient is known for having delays. I've heard nothing but crappy reviews about United and Delta. I stick to what I like. SW may be a little more pricy but when you factor in your baggage fees you'll probably find that they are cheaper. |

| If you go to www.bookingbuddy.com, it will compare all of the sites mentioned above and more, for the best price. It takes a little bit of leg work to check out each one, but worth it!
Yes, Spirit seems cheaper at first, however be aware of hidden costs- luggage, taxes, fees, AND YOUR SEAT! I made the mistake this year of going through them, and when it came time to get my seat, I was thinking I didn't care where I sat, so didn't bother. Wrong! That literally means you're buying a ticket on the plane, but not a seat!! Half of my family had to stay behind going to Disney because of this. They also overbooked the plane by a large number of seats, which come to find out they do daily-- they plan on people not showing up. Ugh I could go on and on about the nightmare but will save you all. Needless to say, their compensation did not cover the costs it took to get the rest of my family there two days later. They were a nightmare for me. |

Location: Oklahoma | Horse Park is awesome. Like Murphy said... tour Three Chimneys, Claiborne, etc. Winstar Farm is phenominal too. The bourbon trail is neat and the Woodford Reserve distillery is there in Versailles. You can either fly into Louisville and drive 45 minutes to Lexington or fly into Lexington. If they do tours, check out Calumet Farm too. So much history there and their trophies were on display at the Horse Park. I miss living in Lexington! |

We like it because of the free bags. My guys have cases they have to check. With Southwest they may spend $75 in baggage, but with Delta and AA it is cheaper for them to upgrade to First Class than to pay the baggage at $120-$160 bucks a person. Their harness and climbing gear is an overweight bag too, so that ads on the price. :) |

I flew Allegiant and thought it sucked too. I flew out of Lexington to Orlando, FL. Our flight was delayed by 3 hours and the airport shut down the restaraunt so there was nothing eat or drink. The fee you death on everything.... you think you are getting a cheap airfare ticket then they charge you per bag, water, peanuts, etc. Not worth it. |

Location: Texas | I definitely don't recommend US Airways. Southwest is usually pretty cheap as long as you purchase your tickets a decent amount of time in advance.
