| I am officially opening the bar for today.   It is 11:30 AM CST and these kids are going to kill me off today.     It's the last day before we leave for Christmas break and they are crazy!

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | Last day of work before our Christmas/New Years break!!! Two weeks!!! Office is full of food, food and food. Gifts are being exchanged too. In between all of that actually working and tying up loose ends    |

| I feel your pain!!!! The fire alarm system is going BONKERS today in our building ... and currently the dudes in charge of building maintenance have no clue what is causing it. Can't silence it, noooooooo, that would be a violation. Can't turn it off, b/c what would happen if we really had a fire???!! OH and every time it goes off ... you get to go outside in the freezing snow and pretend you care - because WHAT IF it really was a fire??!!!
*FACEPALM* I'm glad this is my last day of work for a week! |

I'm just ready for the weekend. Not ready for Christmas yet though. The kids will be out for the holidays. I just wish I could take a little more time off. But we are doing a payroll software conversion and I have too much at work for any real vacation time. My brain is fried.

Sort of - I work at a university and just learned that the father of one of our alums from our graduate program will bequest a scholarship endowment of 6 figures to our program and name it after my boss (she is the BEST) and his family. What makes is so special is just yesterday she and I were discussing endowments and she did NOT want one in her name after she retires. I told her everyone loves her and it would not be hard to garner donations for such a thing. And the father is an alum from a rival university. It makes what we do here all the more special when people recognize that we really care about our students and WANT them to succeed. We both had a good cry about it. BEST. CHRISTMAS. PRESENT. EVER. Even though it will a few years as it is in an estate plan. It is going to help so many students in the future. Simply amazing and beyond generous of them. |

That is good news! I'll have another to celebrate that news, please.
I'm just glad it's only a few more hours until 5 and I can go home for the weekend. Got to clean pecans all weekend but at least it will be at home and maybe I can squeeze in some ride time. |

Location: Montana | I can't imagine what that tastes like, but it sounds good to me! Man it has been a helluva week here too. Yesterday I finally got to see my horses, and that was so great because it was the first time the youngster got ponied with a saddle on! He did great...but that was the highlight for the week. The rest of the week I think I could pretty much just throw in the trash and be happier.
