super interested in how your horse does, good luck! Novobrace looks like a wonderful thing from the research that's been done on it, I just really hope the price comes down on it soon!

My vet is doing the rebate program, so I'm saving A LOT! I couldn't have dreamed of doing it without him doing the rebate for me. We have to send in updates for their research. So blessed to have the vet I do!! Novobrace is an injection that they put directly in to the injured tendon or ligament. It immediately (within the first hour or so I believe) creates an internal brace. It also speeds up healing time dramatically! Back under saddle with light riding usually in 3 months I believe.

Wow, that sounds like what my horse, who has a suspensory injury, was just injected with. He was 100% better almost immediately and now we're doing the rehab. I don't know what it was though. Around here they call it the "magic shots." I had to trust my vet who sent me to the lameness specialist who does the shots. The lameness specialist doesn't tell anyone what it is. Big secret. Keeps the shots in a safe, lol. I wasn't going to do it at first. But everyone I mentioned it to in passing said, "Omg! Do it! It works!" So we threw caution to the wind and brought him over there. I've been trying to figure out what "the magic shots" are. I wonder if it's Novobrace?!

For those who want an update: I go back tomorrow for our 6 week recheck. He is sound and feeling great!

Our instance may be a bit different than most cases. He was injected with novobrace 4 months after the injury. Hoping I can begin riding him again soon!

Will let everyone know what the vet says tomorrow.

It is AMAZING!!!!!! We used Novobrace on an 18 year old barrel horse. He shredded 85% of his tendon. He had a 20% chance of being ridden competitively after the injury. Three months after being injected, his ultrasound looks amazing. He had multiple lesions on the initial ultrasound. At the three month ultrasound, it looks like a tendon with one small lesion. He has one more month off and then we will start legging him up and see what is going to happen. He has a strong chance of coming back and running competitively again. We couldn't be happier!

The Novobrace injection cost us $1200. Yes, it's expensive, but the results are worth it!!!!

Disregard. I realize that's where I got the original quote for mine. Glad to hear it could actually be cheaper. This seems like exciting stuff. Keep us posted.

I wonder how long they did trials on this and if it ever produced contracted tendons or club feet.

Got my update!!! I'm so excited!!!

NO scar tissue formation right now
All fibers look normal and are growing in the correct direction
Lesion is ALMOST completely gone

My vet was amazed. He kept telling me how pleased he was. I go back in 8 weeks and I believe he will be healed by then seeing what we saw yesterday.
