My Christmas menu for just my eldest Travis, his gf Sam and I. Looks like a lot of food but that's what Christmas is about "Family, friends and good food." My baby Dustin will still be in Kuwait or someplace far away and be missed a lot. But we will still pray for the safety of him and his comrades!

Turkey, stuffing

Sweet potato casserole Travis' request
Smashed taters
Fresh green beans (not casserole)
Store bought Pumpkin Pie (I can't make crust like Grandma so I don't bother)

Hope you all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! and Happy Birthday to Jesus!

Merry Christmas to you and special prayers for your son!
I'm having Christmas at my house for 14 people.
I bought an 18 pound Prime Rib (yummy)
Loaded mashed potatoes
Carrots cooked in beef broth
Wild Rice
various salads, buns and pickle/veggie tray
For dessert I've been a baking fool and have 5 cocoa logs along with about 5 different kinds of Christmas cookies and I can't forget the fat ball.  This is what I'll look like on Friday.

Most anything I cook isn't very editable except for eggs but I feel I'm old enough that I should take something to Christmas meals and I don't think anyone wants eggs lol so I'm gonna make white hot chocolate.

I was thinking about renting a movie for Christmas Eve... I only have antannea tv so I'm sure my movie choices are going to be limited. And I think "It's a wonderful life" has already been on... Ya'll sound like you're having great meals.

Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
corn
green bean cassarole
cranberry sauce
ambrosia
apple sauce
rolls
assorted pies and cookies.
Yep we like to eat!!!

Tonight's small family dinner is still up in the air. As is the dinner/gift exchange and game night with my "adopted" family.

Tomorrow is cheesy southwestern casserole, bacon and mimosa for our small family Christmas/stockings.
Big family dinner is:
Prime rib with garlic horsey sauce AND Kentucky Bourban Steak Sauce that I whipped up for my dad last night.
Glazed Ham that I still need to make sauce for...
Potatoes - we're not doing them so I bet they're lipton potatoes
PW's broccoli and cauliflower casserole
ummm... I'm not sure what else. I think I heard something about a waldolf salad?

First menu was prime rib with scalloped potatoes, green beans and almonds, fruit salad, brownies and creme brulee.  But then 4 SIL's and MIL said they wouldn't eat red meat.  My solution was to tell them to bring McD's. (Old, sad, long story 'cause one of them brought McD's to a T-day feast).

Second menu was filets and salmon on the grill.  I nixed that because Christmas meal should not be common dishes, imo.  This time my solution was to nix the whole thing.

But I do this for my hubb and his dad, no one else, so I regrouped and decided on, and got a go-ahead from all attending:

My shrimp/broccoli/mushroom linguini in a light garlic sauce, green salad, fruit salad, and the brownies and creme brulee.  Plus I finally have some Christmas cookies left over.  I'll do a couple appetizers and call it good.

That all sounds so good.  I am not cooking as Sears has not yet rectified my problems with my cooktop and oven since Thanksgiving.  So I will just be a bummer at my family and friends this year.  Guess you would say I am taking a break.
