Went to feed my in-laws mare today and she has chipped a quarter of her outside hoof wall out I'm going to call around to find them a farrier to have out ASAP but isn't their a putty or something to fill in? The hoof is very crooked when she stands on it. Any tips would be helpful! I think it's been their a while she is mainly a pasture pet, I have no clue when the last time they had a farrier out. Thank you for any tips!

Do you have a picture? Odds are if she hasn't been trimmed in a long time the foot is just chipping off the excess wall that needs to be trimmed. Obviously the foot should be trimmed so it doesn't become a problem but it's most likely not much to worry about.

I'll try n get pics tomarrow I'm going to try n soak it, it is just chipped just very uneven, I think she will just need multiple trimmings to get it back.
