My saddle is pretty loud colored. I finally found a breast collar and bridle to match it. My dilemma now is trying to find flank straps to match!!! anyone bother with trying to find flank straps to match your tack/saddle?

I don't use flank straps on my horse I would rather not give them incentive to buck me off.

I do use a rear or back cinch, I order my saddles with one so they match the saddle. I do not try to have the rear or back cinch match anything else.

flank straps, or "off billets" hold your rear cinch on

Where I come from a flank strap is used on bucking stock.

Uh huh. Ok. Thanks for your your 2 cents. There is a difference between talking about bucking flank straps, and flank straps on a saddle or off billets.

Why not just buy you some leather ones and paint them the way you want them? That way you can use the colors that you are using on your horse.

I bet you could find a tack maker to help you out. Maybe send Running Roan a pm and ask her if she would make a set for you. She makes really nice stuff.

There are no flank straps on a saddle.  The leather that holds the back cinch is called a billet strap.  The leather that hold the front cinch on is called the off billet.

My saddle's not all blinged out either. But I do have a nice, Heritage brand, flashy breastcollar and headstall set. I think a set of pretty flank straps would be super unique!  AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, would offset a plainer saddle.   :

I've always called them flank billets! I've heard the back cinch referred to as the flank cinch, but never flank strap. Flank straps are a whole nother ball game :)

I have a very small tack company....

I was in need of a pair of back cinch straps, so I made me some :)

I did a barbed wore stamped tooling and then stamped my name and handpainted them....

I never had any interest, so never made any for anybody.....

will try to post pics or u can look on my website at www.poorboyexotictack.com
