| I am currently working 2 jobs and yes, its pays the bills but I am clean burnt out on both jobs! I need something knew. Would love to start training outside horses as I have trained my own for years but my jobs haven't exactly funded big jackpots and rodeos so I've mainly only hauled locally. And I realize people want to see your impressive win record before they send a horse to you. So what type of job is everyone working to help fund their rodeo addiction so they can venture out and run at the bigger races? I did graduate high school but did not go to college. However, I am not against going back to school if its for something I really want to do. Are there any work from home jobs that pay decent out there? |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | What interests you? Maybe going back to school is a good idea if there is a job that is more fulfilling for you...I've never regretted getting a degree..pays the bills easier that'sfor sure... there are a lot of fields you can go far in with even a 2 yr degree like nursing or business...or maybe like a tech Institute to learn a trade...welders make great money...who says a chick can't weld! I have 2degrees one in animal science and another in business. ..really use my business one for work as am an insurance adjuster supervisor for a big corporate company but it pays great and I get a lot of time off and can work from home if I want to...it allows me to rodeo andrun barrels when I want ..i raise a few foals each year and breed a couple mares and purchased my dream ranch a few years ago too...i never had the big rodeo rig in college but now I do... but it's not those things that make it worth it it'sjust the peace of mind and extra time yyou have when you don't have to work 2 jobs to just enjoy life in general.. . sometimes putting in that extra work now towards your education will make things a lot easier just a few years from now for a lifetime... |

| Excellent thread BTW. I have 3 kids, that all youth rodeo. I had to put my own horse interest on the back burner, we just can't afford for all of us to be out chasing the sport. It is terribly expensive. My wife and both have decent jobs, and are debt free. Truck, trailer, gas, entry fees, feed, hay, vet, it all adds up fast. Good luck, it's a tough road. |

| I make good money at my job, but with wanting to get debt paid down, but a bigger place etc I wanted to pick something up to try and cover entry fees and a little gas money.
I just started selling Jamberry nails. I can do it all on my own schedule, which is great since my other job, ponies, household doesn't allow for a conventional 2nd job. So far I've had pretty good success with it, they're pretty fun and hold up great even with the horses/barn work.
Really it's what works for you - do you have enough experience at either of your jobs now to look at a promotion? Would another company be interested in your skills for more money? Sometimes I think people get complacent and don't realize they have a skill set more valuable than their pay grade. |

Location: Loma Linda, CA | I'm an emergency vet tech by night, ranch hand by day, and my husband is a pediatrician... Lets be honest, I am paying my truck and supporting the horses, he funds the gas and the entry fees lol.
Without him I couldn't compete as often as I do. |

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | If I had fewer horses I would be in much better shape on time and money!!
I work full time with an hour commute. I also write 3 blogs and am also an author so my time is full! I have done some freelance copywriting which pays decent. But I make better extra money judging horse shows and giving riding lessons. At least with lessons my horses get used!
I have taken in 1-2 horses at a time to break and that paid decent as well. But I don't want to do it if my time is already strapped.
The best 2nd job bang for the buck I've ever had though was waiting tables a few nights a week at a pizza joint. I made anywhere from $70 to $100 a night. |

Location: Missouri | I use to be a waitress at a 5 star restaurant and that paid for everything I did. Luckily before my dad passed he paid off my trailer, truck, and bought me a new horse. Now I work for a steel yard as an administrative assistant, 7:30-3:00 with benefits and pretty free on what I do. It's not the highest paying job in the world but it pays my bills. It also helps my BF is a farmer with a very steady income and pays for a lot of things around the house I can't cover so that my income goes to cows and horses. |

| I'm an accounting manager at a corporate wholesale HVAC company. It's a really laid back environment, and as long as it's not the end of the year, they're flexible with my hours. I wanted to post on this because a couple of the girls who work part time for me do not have college degrees but are very hard workers and detail oriented, so there are office jobs out there where you can make a steady income and not have to work full time. I do agree with others that said that waitressing is the quickest way to make cash. I waited tables/bartended all through college and I definitely had plenty to pay all of my bills and a little to save as well. |

Location: Southern Oregon | I'm a 3/4 time mill worker who makes $20 something an hour and make my own schedule. It works out since I have two kids as well. My other half is a diesel mechanic for a big company. Although he might pitch in every once in a blue moon for fuel, I pay for anything to do with our horses and running. Lessons, entry fees and hauling. We own all of our trucks and horse trailers out right. All we pay on is our house. |

Location: Probably On the Road to the Next Barrel Race! | LOL!! Not a pyramid scheme, Ambit Energy is the largest retailer of energy in the United States, the 5th largest in the world, with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau... Inc. magazine showcased Ambit Energy as the fastest growing company in America in 2012. All I do is help other people save money on their electricand gas bill, and I get paid a lot of money for that.. go to youtube "Pete Maugans" , watch his 4 minute video, and see why Ambit grew faster than Google or Microsoft...part-time work + the Ambit opportunity = barrel horse cash. I'm ordering a new wrap for my rig that says "Powered By Ambit Energy!" My personal website is www.judip.energy526.com. You cannot know what you do not know....I encourage you to watch that 4 minute video; it has literally changed my life :) God bless you!!

It works exactly like one. I guess as long as the pyramid never collapses, then it's all well and good. |
