Okay tried another farrier! Here's some pics. He is highly recommended by a local vet and he was super professional, educated, and took his time.
What do ya'll think of my girls trim??
First picture my right the foot looks toes out, so either the horse is crooked (I can't decide) of the farrier trimmed the foot crooked. Looks like more outside foot then inside, possibly unbalanced.
Second picture heels are under run, depending on what the bottom of the foot looks like I would have liked more toe off, and rasped the hoof wall from the cornet down to the toe.
The third picture looks better then the second, which makes me question if both feet are at the same angle, and if the toes are the same length.
The last picture I don't like that he left the white line by his thumb the way he did, as it looks like the lamania is damaged in this area, looks similar to a seedy toe. Also not sure if the foot is balanced, hard to tell in the picture, he took more of the heel on the side of his thumb then the other, then it looks like he rasped the hoof wall off all the way to the white line on one side of the toe, while he left the other side longer. This is from looking at the picture, and may be completely off base.
I would be measuring the toe to make sure they match, and using a hoof angle to make sure they are at the same degrees.

Location: Oregon | They're all the same angle snd length. All balanced...way better than previous young guy. He didn't touch her heels other than the one side on one hoof due to her foot shifting inside a tad, so he cut a tad on one corner to adjust that. Her toes are not too long...no need to cut more off. That is my hand holding her foot. In the winter he feet separate and split just a smidge due to cold and dryness but nothing serious affecting her at all. She moves great and I think they look excellent!

If you think they are perfect why ask?
Also I live in canada and have much harsher conditions when it comes to cold and dryness none of my horses white line separates. A healthy white line should not look like that.
To get the heels back to where they should be one has to pull back the toe.

If this is the case, then one can not judge on what you see in these pictures alone as sometimes a horse's feet are a work in progress. If I showed you one of my horse's feet, everyone would judge the farrier harshly as well, but he is doing what he can every 4 weeks to correct a good years worth of damage. So if they were a mess before, than as of now, they look good. Can they be better? Probably, as most can. I don't see how anyone posts horse feet on here because someone will always have a negative opinion and we just don't know the whole story. |

Everyone always has negative stuff to say I get that.
My girl has super hard, great, amazing Mustang feet and never lame a day in her 16 years! Not one shoe in her life, her feet are rock hard.
Definitely I think wayyy better than last arrogant guy.
The white line separated just slightly in areas because her trim
before was overdue as I was trying to find a good farrier and was having bad luck and it's been dry lately. Her white line is healthy! Now I have this guy, he will be back in 9 weeks and we will see how they grow.

| Dude ... to look at the feet/legs I have to turn MY HEAD sideways to see the horses set up correctly. If you turn them and reload, it would be easier. |

| I'm a firm believer in having an x ray done to check angles if your really having a problem or have had damage from trims done that resulted in severe lameness.
Also I firm believer that a horse needs a dang foot to support themselves. Put the knives away and use the rasp! |

I really don't know what your problem is today but you ASKED for opinions and you are getting them so don't get so defensive..........(and please don't use the "hair" excuse again....lol). I have to agree with Cheryl (now that the photos are upright....thanks, Komet!) that the left front (actually both) toes out a little..... Additionally, I don't know how much moisture you are getting right now but I would add to my comment above that I think 9 weeks "might" be a little too long if you are trying to do corrective trimming...... |

I totally agree...no hoof no horse! Well my girl definitely doesn't have the no hoof problem! Everywhere I take her people are amazed at what nice super hard rock big feet she has! Just had a few bad farriers in the mix but on the way to working with a good one. 9 weeks is perfect for her. She doesn't grow as fast as she yes use to when she was younger ...she's approx 16 now going on 5 ;)

Best feet I ever worked on.... and not just a few of them.. ALL of them had nearly indestructible feet. None of them ever needed shoes. |
