Location: Savannah, Tennessee | I have narrowed the stallions for this years breeding to a handful, all are by FWF or FG.... So I find myself asking, which one? Firewater Flit or Frenchman's Guy..?
Mare:

If we're talking directly to one or the other I prefer FWF, however there are some sons of his I LOVE and some I don't.
Depending on which FWF sons you're looking at, there are some FG sons I prefer. |

| all good choices. I think A smooth guy will probably have the best value if you are to sell the foal. Even with the 5 panel issue. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I have a coming 2yr old Firewater Finale out of a Shoot Yeah mare. I love him, have since the little booger hit the ground. He was friendly and inquisitive from the start. He was very easy to halter break at 5 months of age after living in pasture and when I haul him to town for trimmings and vet work, he acts like an old broke kids horse. My vet and farrier have commented on his disposition. He is pretty dang athletic too. I can't wait to ride him.

This ^^^^^ I have a coming 2 year old son that is by far the best minded colt I have ever worked with. He is is so brave and willing and smart. Show him something once and he's got it. Oh and he's pretty nice to look at too! :)
I'd take a pasture full of them!

Oh I agree. I love Chasin Firewater but I saw on FB that his book was full before we bought this mare. |

What is the issue with A Smooth Guy's 5 panel... I haven't seen anything about that? |

He carries one copy of the Herda and the GBED gene. Just have your mare tested and if she is N/N on her 5 panel you are golden. |

| The Firewater Flits get my vote hands down. IMO they are far more mentally mature and sure of themselves, easy to train, ... |

| Biggest bang for your buck...Firewater Finale. I have a coming 3 yr old and my husband always says he is the nicest horse we have had on the place. (We have OWN daughters of FWF and BJO. We have had Frenchmans Fabulous and Chasin Firewater babies here also). Resale I might at this time go with A Smooth Guy. I think you are going to see Dazzler babies really come on this year however! If you want to keep for yourself, go with Dazzler. :) |

Thank you. This will be for my own personal horse. I have no plans to sell, really just wanting to have a nice colt for when I have to retire my current horse. I really appreciate the input... |
