My barn has an apartment above the stall section that nobody lives in. It is just used as an office, storage, and it has windows so you can see down into the indoor arena from up there. Last summer I noticed the radio station and volume changing by its self often, when nobody was up there (the control for the radio is upstairs). I didn't think that much of it. But then last night I was there by myself at like 9pm. My puppy and the cats were down by me while I was grooming Cash. All of a sudden I hear someone walking then STOMPING around upstairs. After listening to it for what seemed like minutes I checked on all the horses, all were quietly chilling in their stalls. One had a salt lick but I that wouldn't create the loud foot step sounds moving around upstairs. So I took my puppy and went up and it was pitch dark up there. I didn't investigate too much cause frankly at that point I was kinda freaked. I heard it one more time and then nothing else the rest of the time I was there. So yeah, that's my story for the day.

My house is haunted......I hear a man walking above my bed at 2:30am every morning (and I mean EVERY morning). I've looked in the attic, nothing in there but there is a big plywood board right above my bed. The tv volume will turn up by itself when I'm not even touching the remote. I have a pellet burning stove, I left to go to the gas station one morning...left the stove on and packed it full of pellets. I was gone maybe 30 minutes, came back and it was completely shut off (and you have to physically shut it off), and the pellets were completely full.

Then about 3 months ago.....I heard a conversation in the dining room between two men, faint but I could hear it.....I live alone with my child. About 2 weeks ago, it was 9pm....I was laying down for bed, and I had already set the alarm system. All of a sudden I hear the system say "door open" and before I could get up and see what the heck it was...the alarm system went crazy...sure as poop, my front door was wide open when I had dead bolted the lock. I shut the alarm off, grabbed my child...ran outside to my car and locked ourselves in the car. The police showed up, searched the entire house, the property...nobody was there. And there was no signs of forced entry, or anyone picking the lock.

Now, this is a better ghost. It has creativity, even though it's only scaring a woman and her young child.

I'm waiting to see what it does next LOL. After the whole alarm thing....I made kiddo sleep out in the living room with me, the couch was my bed for a few days lol.

Last year, I heard a woman singing in the woods behind my house. Like an old time song and her voice was crackling. My nearest neighbors are a mile east of me, 2 miles west, 1 south, and 2 miles north.....so it wasn't my neighbors LOL. But whatever it was, spooked my horses because right after she stopped, they blew up towards the barn as fast as they could.

Hoofs.. I think I'd be outta there! But, I'm not much better. Our house is haunted but they haven't opened the doors up... yet. We hear kids laughing in the breezeway between the garage and house almost every morning. One night, my SO and I were heading out to the barn to feed and left the DVD we were watching playing. We got back inside and the t.v. was off, DVD player was ejected and DVD was out of the player, turned upside down on the coffee table. We live alone and he was with me the whole time. Ghosts give me the heebee geebees.

Oh my gosh .... gotta share my ghost story.

SO, we have a family friend in Indiana.  Every year in the fall, we'd travel from the west coast out to Indiana to have a production sheep sale with a few people; and my mom and I would stay at Billie's house a couple miles down the road.

Billie lives in an 1870's built 2 story home.  It is drafty and cold year round.  So, she hangs blankets over doorways and windows to hold the drafts.  (yes, she's thrifty instead of buying new windows or doors).    As a little kid, it freaked me out one evening - Billie hung up her blankets, checked the fire in the stove, and we all went out to go feed the livestock.  We came back in roughly 30 mins later and EVERY blanket was taken down, folded and placed in a neat pile in the middle of the living room.

Now someone PLEASE explain that one to me???!!!

OP - that would freak me out too! As long as my horses were cool with it, I'd be ok!

Our pellet stove shuts off if pellets aren't feeding to keep the fire going if for some reason a pellet gets stuck or if the stove needs cleaned.  Just a thought, maybe that happened to yours and it's not really a ghost

Wow good stories guys! This is just one of many strange experiences I've had in various places. I too lived in a haunted house for a short time. I was poked, had clothing tugged, my sister had her hair pulled. We both saw shadows, had a basket above the toilet dropped on our heads, etc. My front door handle started shaking like crazy one night at like 1am. Anyway, my barn could be haunted because the lady who owns it, get husband died here.

I'll play.  I know my property is haunted.  I have a very heavy steel decorative double gate.  Its a pain to open when you want to leave.  It opened wide for me one day before I pulled off our land.  Radio turns off and on... motion lights by the barn go off when I can see nothing in front of it.  So much more that I can't even remember it all.

When it left a grocery list for Ghost Chow, I was well convinced.  ,-- okay that was a lie.  The rest was true.

Ummm no thanks. I would have to move ASAP. I'm chicken ***t when it comes to stuff like this. Just reading these makes me not want to get out of my bed. My friends wanted me into going with them to a haunted house or to be more specific it was built in the 1800s as a old hotel then hospital then nursing home. I didn't want to seem like a baby so I went along with it. After about 5min one of them had to literally pick me up and tote me out because my legs would no longer move. Now I am not one to cuss but I think I said every word in the book multiple times that night.

My boss's house is haunted - by a little girl, when she actually TOUCHED him one night while he was eating dinner, he had had enough, he said he felt like an idiot but he stood in the room where she is the most active and told her to CUT IT OUT - and she did - for the most part. The people that live in the house before he did said they saw her too.

newracer - 2015-01-08 6:01 PM  Our pellet stove shuts off if pellets aren't feeding to keep the fire going if for some reason a pellet gets stuck or if the stove needs cleaned.  Just a thought, maybe that happened to yours and it's not really a ghost

true, I've had issues with it doing that before....but I've also had times when I've come home...and it's unplugged.

hoofs_in_motion - 2015-01-08 1:59 PM My house is haunted......I hear a man walking above my bed at 2:30am every morning (and I mean EVERY morning).

F That. That's paranormal activity shiz.
