As I am waiting on the phone to talk to my vet I was wondering if anyone has had a mare react to this vaccine? About a week after I gave it to her I noticed a hard knot on her chest. I didn't think anything of it as she had no fever or signs of being sick. Today I noticed that it has burst open. Also she has a couple under her belly near her udder that are oozing and appear to be hard and one burst open. Is it the vaccine or something with the pregnancy? That's the only thing I've given her. Anyone dealt with this?

That is what the vet is thinking too...
I would go ahead an quarantine her from the other horses just in case.

I would run blood work to determine if there is a systemic infection that could harm the pregnancy. We had a mare abort earlier this year. She had a swollen leg and mastitis. Based on the bloodwork my vet and I were concerned about the pregnancy. Palpation and ultrasound showed that she had recently aborted. Sure hope that your mare and her pregnancy are fine. I've never had any kind of reaction from pneumabort.
