This year the Ultimate X Showdown is moving to the KY Horse Park in conjunction with the Retired Racehorse Project Makeover Event to be held October 23 & 24, 2015.
With the projected $100,000 in cash to be won through 10 different disciplines what barrel racing trainer wouldn't want to snatch up a retired Thoroughbred to have a shot!?
Each class will have it's own prize money allotted once all sponsors are in. Sponsors can choose to sponsor a certain class, and that is why the actual figures will not be in until closer to the Event. The winner of each class will move on to the main Event, of America's Most Wanted Thoroughbred where there will be another cash prize to be won!
Once we determine our time frame we will get the rules of the Ultimate X Showdown barrel race up as far as if it will be a two go or just one. It will follow all regular rules for a barrel race, with a knock having 5 seconds added to the time.
Horse requirements are that they have to have raced after July, 2013 and have no other training as of January 15, 2015. You may start training at any time in which you acquire your OTTB.
This Event will be highly publicized and draw a lot of attention, which is a wonderful way to show off your skills and also help this charity Event for off track Thoroughbreds!
The Ultimate X Showdown barrel racing trainers will also be highlighted on the www.ultimatexshowdown.com website and Facebook page as well. Great opportunity to get your name out there if you are a trainer!
