I'm having a saddle built and was going to go with Elk but can't get it in creme or white so I'm having to go with Alligator! Any advice on how it rides would be appreciated as I still have time to change it back to Elk. Just won't be white.

I've heard the lower quality croc can be slick but if it's a good brand you should be ok. You could always slap some sadl tite on before a run if you'received feeling that you need some extra security.

my friend has a triple creek with a "gator" seat, its just gator print on smooth leather, pretty sure anyways, no way would I order one based off that. I had elk hide on my last Shiloh I ordered and LOVED it.

I too wanted a white seat...went with buffalo...found my new love of saddle seat. Ya don't move but that could be because the saddle is a Caldwell. Charon had always wanted to use buffalo and was so happy when I said would you please try...I'm using these saddles on colts and you know what happens when you tie colts next to each other. Well, I can happily say I've not shot one for eating thru a seat. The buffalo is tuff!
