I was riding yesterday. We are trying to get my mare legged back up. Going left we were doing great. Right hand circles, I thought she was cross firing. She wasn't, but she was loping very upright, not reaching under herself with her right hind and felt stiff. Not limping at all, just not reaching. Had three on the ground watching her. Just seemed stiff. Seemed to have to chase her into the canter a bit. Ears forward the whole time, no pinning ears or acting like she was really hurting, although obviously something was bothering her.
Is that usually hock or stifle? I can't remember. No heat or swelling that I could find. She let me pick up, stretch, etc. I'll try her today and see if it's still there. She could have tweaked it in the pasture. But if it stays she will go to the vet.
Just curious if you have any input. |
