My nieces, both 5, want to barrel race. So, today we went to the arena and practiced learning to ride and walking the pattern. We plan to join our first rodeo club or two this Spring and compete on Scorcho. I'm so proud of my nieces :) Life is good :)

The stallion has a better temperament than most horses. I'll post pictures when we make our first run :)

Ditto, most of our local associations won't allow children under the age of 18 to compete on a stud. :(

I have a set of buddy stirrups that you can have, my kids have outgrown them and they are hanging in my trailer collecting dust.

Wonder how your guy would cross on a LHDI mare?  If my buckskin doesn't come back from her stifle injury, I will breed her later this spring.

My BFF had the kiddo stirrups that hung over the saddle horn. Her daughter has outgrown them.  Let me find out if she still has them.

Pm me you address or meet me somewhere and I will get them to you. I may be driving your direction soon, this weekend or middle of next week, not sure yet.

That boy of yours is impressive, so glad you have him, SWSS did not do him justice!

Its fun to go from being the competitor to being the teacher to the next generation.  Have fun with them and train them right. Your horse looks great.  I have only one complaint. I see that you have green grass in the pictures.  I wish winter would leave so we could go back to riding up here in the tundra. You need to share the warmth.

Heck, I might need you to to come here and help me practice "soft hands." Or we could work up some kind of recording that I could listen to while I'm riding LOL
