Have you thought about leasing or selling to somone you know with the option I a buy back clause? I leased out my old gelding to a friend with a boarding stable as a lesson horse worked out well, I eventually got him back after a few years. It helped me out financially, and he was my first horse so he had sentimental value, but I wanted to barrel race and couldn't afford 3 horses ,and because our agreement was she paid for feed, feet, vet ect. And she kept all money made on him with lessons. Something to consider.
