| So i've always had trailers with Mangers but that seems to be hard to come by right now and before i easily found them!
So if you dont have mangers... where do you put all your buckets and stuff? Especially if you dont have an extra stall for storage where does it all go? Is it an inconvience not having them?
Thanks |

Location: NE Texas | I just bought a new trailer that does not have mangers, but it does have a mid tack. I didn't want mangers because it seems like i'm always hauling a colt that hasn't been hauled much and you can get in a bind with those mangers if your colt gets rank. They just take up too much room for me. Plus, a horse can't get it's head down to cough or clear their nose. I don't think i'll miss them, but I probably would if I didn't have a mid tack. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | I would get a trailer with a mid and rear tack if I couldn't have managers. In my perfect world I would have all 3.... |

Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I had a mare he her feet up in the manger and flip while we were trying to get down doing some damage to herself and the trailer. I just get a mid tack now. No more mangers for me. |

| Wow! i didn't realize midtacks were so popular! But unfortunately that option is out for me cuz my husband wants to walk from the LQ straight into the horse area so he can smoke whenever he wants. I could get a 4 horse so i have the extra stall but 3 horses are just so much more common!! Maybe i just have too much stuff lol! |

They do make mid tacks with walk throughs as well. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | I just ordered a new trailer too and that was one thing i hemmed and hawed about.. i ended up not getting mangers too.. i figure i'll use the front stall (since did the 4h) as my storage mostly anyway.. plus i got a haypod too i can put stuff in if i need to pack a bunch.. i didn't get a midtack but the rear is usually large enough to fit stuff into as well even with saddles like the other person mentioned putting it underneath saddles... i like to be able to take the dividers out and use the back wide open if i need to for mares n babies or whatever and mangers are definitely an inconvenience for that.. even though i do like the thought of having them i think the benefits of not having them outweighed it in my case. |

Location: NW MT | I never had any horses try to climb in my mangers in my 4 Star, but the trailer I have now does not have midtack or mangers & I sure miss that storage! It does have a roof rack, but is a PITA to drag things up & down from there. "My" ideal world is the midtack that goes all the way through & has a door on each side, & then a rear tack too. |

Location: midwest mama | I had a nice galvanized aluminum box built for the back of my truck that I store all my junk in - buckets, feed, blankets. All the bulky stuff. I do have to climb up in the back of the truck but it works just fine.
I know a few people who had "tack boxes" built on the top of the trailer fenders (on the outside of the trailer) - that works well too.
I don't like mangers at all.

| I was always told 4 horse has better resale, might want to look at that.
I didn't get mangers but I do have a mid tack goes half way, and a back tack that I gutted. Tack/blankets goes in mid tack, feed/buckets go in back tack. I also have water tanks in each.
I also put a water tank in my front stall, horses don't even notice it when hauling.
Without mangers you also learn to down size, only take the necessary |
