Okay, so I am in the process of switching to Renew Gold since my non-pellet eating horse is leased out, I thought I would try it with my mare. You are only supposed to feed 1 pound a day. So I take some of it in the house and tried to weigh it with my bathroom scale. Trying several times, I came up with a pound being about a HALF of a SMALL coffee can. Is that right? It just seems like such a small amount per horse, per day.

I guess my post must be confusing. What I am getting at, is how much is a pound of pellets? Does a half of a small coffee can sound like a pound's worth?
I don't have a kitchen scale, so I weighed myself, then tried various amounts of grain until I got a pound more to show on the scale.
A half a small coffee can a day per horse just doesn't seem like enough.

You can get scoops that have it measured for you...not sure how accurate they are. You just have to weigh your can and weigh the amount in until you get the amount you need. Pellets are heavier than other grains so that amount could be correct.
