| Our horse lost her footing a little going into 2nd barrel and never did regain her footing all the way around it. Now its a week later and she is sore and wont let us stretch her leg backwards, we can lift it and rotate the hoof and hock area but she pulls away hard when we try and stretch her leg back.
Thoughts?
Im thinking stifle but not sure what to do... |

That sounds like a good idea.
Then what?
How long off?

Take her to a lameness vet, who will tell you how long to be off her. Sorry, I know it is crap luck sometimes, hugs. |

| I could tell you what you tell others: the horse obviously just needs wet saddle blankets and its guts worked out.
But I won't. When my old man is hard to stretch, it's time for hock and stifle injections, about 2x a year. I'd get my horse to a good lameness vet and make sure it isn't too serious. |

| She has sore ovaries...
I made a thread earlier about "mare issues" but I didnt link the issues to the lameness we were seeing.
Always learning something. |

| No, not at all. I've never dealt with sore ovaries before. Just was wondering. |
