Now that my horse is feeling good again and slowly getting into shape, I've been noticing issues with my sister's. We've been dealing with a slight "off-ness" which seemed to be in his front end for a while. Had the vet out, she x-rayed his hoof/pastern area, injected the joint, and my farrier checked the x-rays too and put on small wedge pads. It seemed to be about 90% better but I've noticed his "bad" days are coming more and more frequently. I've also noticed watching her ride that he doesn't want to pick up his right lead, and he often cross canters when on the left lead. He's really chargey, spooky, and doesn't want to listen at the canter as well as a lot of head shaking. He just had his teeth done in August but I'm going to have him checked here shortly as the dentist is coming out to my barn.

From what I've read, many of these issues can stem from hock issues. Now the reason I mention his front end is I was wondering, could him compensating for hock soreness exacerbate or even cause his front end soreness?

I'd check for EPM ..it may be a long shot but sure sounds symptomatic and test is cheap just to rule it out...cross cantering, head shaking, lameness, spooky, one sidedness....could be something completely different but I'd check.
