How soon after can a horse return to work if the blistering was successful. My horse has been on esterone therapy since October . When I went back yesterday he said just a few more weeks and if she isn't back at 100% then we will blister he said it takes a few weeks to see results of it anyway if it is successful. I'm getting frustrated since my other horse was diagnosed with kissing spines yesterday as well. O LUCKY ME

I was always told 10-14 days turned out, then another 2 weeks of straight lines and muscle-building work before resuming your normal exercise regimen. I've heard of others that were told to start riding in 3 days. Mine were always sore for at least a week.

My vet (very good performance vet), told me the worst thing you can do after blistering stifles is give them time off. He told me to start riding the day after and go back to barrels in a couple weeks, depending on how the horse responds.
