Location: Home....Smiling M Farms | A dear friend of mine has been in an accident. He's been in the hospital now for 5 days and he's VERY worried about money at this point. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, is a farrier, and has ran here locally for longer than I've been alive. My question's are: How do I go about getting together a benefit barrel race for him? I have NO idea where to even begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Just a suggestion... In our area, we have a lot of silent auctions for fundraiser benefits. We also have had 50/50 tickets sold. People donate stuff new and used to put in the silent auction. Sometimes local businesses donate as well. The 50/50 raffle sells tickets for $1, then someone's name is drawn out of a hat and that person splits the pot with the beneficiary. |

Location: Where I am happiest | Who puts the races on in your area? Contact who ever normally puts races on their, and what ever association is usually the approving assoc. and ask them if they would put on the benefit race and offer all your help. The proceeds from the race after expences would go to the beneficiary. You can do a silent auction table at that race as has been suggested. You can do a bake sale, invite the ladies at your church to do the bake sale. 50/50 raffles are good. Hit up every store, restaurant, car dealership, mechanic shop ext for sponsorship moneys. |
