How many times a month (after loading dose) do you give it?

(specific horse in mind is 6yo with possible minor arthritis due to career history but has stayed sound with no issues and is in training. Is not running the barrels- yet)

Per my vet's instructions, I did a loading dose (can't remember the specifics) and then every three weeks after that. 16yo with some minor arthritis issues beginning to develop. I have a lot of trust in my vet - she grew up riding cutting horses and has been barrel racing for the past few years, so she has an incredible understanding of the needs of performance horses.

I have 2 very different horses on it. One with arthritis already and one preventative. THe arthritic horse has responded EXTREMELY well to it and is bucking and kicking all over the place. He will get weekly or bi monthly shots. THe youngster is going to get them every month or so. Or few days before a barrel race.

2 different vets have told me it's better to do a loading dose every 6 months and save your money between. Has anyone actually tried that schedule and been happy with it?

My vet told me this for adequan, not Pentosan.
