I acquired a mare friday who cut her ankle not 10 minutes before my arrival. She sliced open the very top of her ankle (where you wouldn't be able to stitch it). It only got skin but it's about 3.5 inches long. It wasn't bleeding actively so we rinsed it with the hose and wrapped it up in vetwrap. The mare has some minor swelling on her cannon bone (it appeared yesterday morning) I have been cold hosing it twice a day and spraying it with vetricin and wrapping it to keep debris out. how should I proceed from here? Note: it has zero redness and it doesn't ooze. It's showing no sign of infection whatsoever and she isn't lame on it but it's a fairly large gash
