I was wondering why she disappeared so quickly. Usually NFR winners get the whole banner for at least a few months! |

Face of the franchise! Yeah, she probably cries about people being silly about her helmets, then wipes the tears away with a big old check! Lol :)
SMH!
I have noticed the number of helmets at jackpots is increasing, as are the tie dyed pants. Evidently she's on to something. |

Years ago I wanted Rodeo Drive to bling up my helmet and they said there wasn't a glue that would work on that material for the bling to stay on. Never thought of painting them. I bet it won't be long and you'll see the helmet companies coming out with more. I know years ago, Troxel had a Mickey Mouse helmet. |

I've seen the ones she rides in and sells, they're normal riding helmets. Look through Dover's or Adam's helmet selection and you'll see lots that are similar. |

I'm glad she has so much support. My friends won't ride with me when I wear my helmet. It makes me sad. I spent so much time blinging it up.

I remember a time when Delores O'Tool or Tool wore one. I always that that if an NFR girl would wear one at the NFR, then they would catch on. It also makes me happy to see Joy wear one. She is a top notch 1D'er also!! Nothing wrong with saving the brains! When I see a child with a helmet on it shows to me just how much the parents love and cherish their children!!! |

I used my helmet covers from when I rode at the track. Lots of cool designs. I've had many parents thank me for being an example. Although I've flown many head injury patients into a trauma center it took me losing a friend, an awesome world champion dressage rider to a head injury prior to me wearing one full time. Fallon asked me several questions after our back to back slack runs at Seguin last year. So she has been giving this some thought for awhile. Her husband was in on the conversation; you could see his wheels turning, Hey, he protected his noggin' while in the NFL. |

They looked a little bulkier than I guess I expected. They don't look the same as the jumper/cross country helmets I have seen. I have never worn one so I'm pretty clueless about them, hence the silly question lol. |

They're definitely not high end site helmets, which is why they don't look like the ones you'll see in misty English competitions. |

| Remember that part of what makes a helmet safe is it fitting correctly.
I've worn a lot of helmets and only a select few truly fit any one individual head style correctly. I have a tipperary right now that I like okay, but I tried a Troxel Intrepid on the other day and it was amazing, my next purchase for sure.
Her helmets are cute, but I'm worried that people will be spending $100 on a $40 helmet that doesn't fit.
I would love to see some of the talented hat painters out there offering to do helmets of a brand and size that you choose, much better option IMO. |

ETA- I've never had anything but cheap troxels...I like the look of the expensive ones but they're all ASTM/SEI certified and all have to be replaced every few years. Why bother with a $300 one?

fatchance, you are 100% forgiven- alot of us have questioned Fallon's reasoning once in awhile, especially in regards to some shakey horse deals. But everyone has faults, we are human and can't escape it. I really applaud Fallon and her ability to stay positive through all the negativity slung at her the past years. I remember when I first saw her at a rodeo- she was so happy to just to be there, had a big hello and smile for everybody! I thought to myself, this is a girl who understands herself, forgives herself and shines like a light for the rest of us who have fallen a time or two in life. I just love her- she's definitely heavenly inspired! I'm so glad to see so many sending positive energy her way! |

Her and Troy lost their spots when Amberley was voted in to the American.
I personally would like to see them back after March. They earned those spots in my opinion.
Unless we lose another great person in the industry of course.
Did anyone read the article she wrote for BHN? I loved it. She seems very real about everything that's happened in her life.

I wear my Tipperary Sportage no matter how hot. And it doesn't make me any hotter than a ball cap. BUT...it's designed to give a lot of airflow.
You can get a bill to add on the front of any helmet...I think Cashel makes them. But the bill on the front of the Tipperary or Troxel is generally sufficient for most. I do wear sunscreen and the long sleeve sunscreen shirts. They actually keep me cooler than a t shirt and provide good protection.

I went and sat under my shade tree and took my helmet off to get so air and immediately felt better. I just feel like the heat can't escape with my helmet on and maybe something with a bit more ventilation might help a bit. I love my helmet and bought a good one when I bought one, but I sure would like it even more if it had a few more vents. This is what I have except mine is silver.

Location: North Dakota | I wear a helmet from the time I take the horse out of the pasture until the horse goes back in the pasture!! Its not only riding that you need one, horses can spook and knock you down also! I had a puke mare sling her head and hit me directlly in the forehead but I was wearing my helmet so it just hurt instead of knocking me out or worse!! From that day I never handle a horse without a helmet! It was just by chance that I already had it on the day she did that! I sent her down the road!! |

Can someone explain to me what the differences are in the way the troxol vs tipperary fit's? http://www.chicksaddlery.com/page/CDS/PROD/3095/SH4279?utm_source=shopzilla&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopzilla%2Bdata%2Bfeed |

In my experience...the Troxels fit a round head shape better....the Tipperary fits an oval head better.
Both make some well ventilated and low profile designs. I wear the Tipperary Sportage as I have an oval noggin.

They all have a sizing chart I see on all their helmets. http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=be079426-9b84-4c93-a2f3-9d288d8101bc&sfb=1&itemguid=02b1e757-6e6e-41bf-84af-ba6c006e7d71&utm_content=19742&ccd=IFH003&mr:trackingCode=1744C464-3C81-E211-BA78-001B21631C34&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=plaonline&mr:ad=43740101083&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=84505003123&gclid=Cj0KEQiA6dGmBRC_3Mi-x_XywKsBEiQA1lcFP4dCcOljIVLfpjS5kkvx8D5IzMkv1oo0Sc0_vsE51yAaAgdL8P8HAQ |

Charles Owen's are known for being hot and not having ventilation. I'd definitely get a tipperary or troxel or if you want a higher end, One K, Samshield, or GPA. They all have MUCH better ventilation. I've ridden in Troxels since I was 6 and my head has never once been hot or uncomfortable. I just looked like a 'shroom. |

I got a Tipperary Sportage and it is so comfortable that I forget I have it on. It has a lot of vents and I found it cooler then the Troxels but I wonder if it felt hotter because it just wasn't comfortable for me. I can't wear a baseball cap as I sweat too much and they make my head itch. Maybe I'm just weird..Okay..we all know I'm weird..LOL |

Location: North Dakota | Helmets fit differently! I tried on several helmets the most expensive being $560 and the best fitting for my head shape was the more sporty type that costs $70!! Go to a store and try different types on, what fits one person may not fit another!!!! |

Location: The South | To the person asking about helmets for a big noggin...I have good news! My husband has a huge head, his cowboy hat is a size 7&3/4. So when he said he would be my helmet buddy (I'm a pansy and didn't want to be the only one in a helmet at a shoot), I didn't think we'd ever find one big enough for him. After scouring the internet for awhile I finally found one! The brand is "Snowbee", and it's super low profile and looks really good on him. I'm so excited-for him to protect his brain (especially after I scrambled mine) and to have my own personal helmet buddy |

Location: Alberta | Does anyone have suggestions for the best fitting helmet for a little kid? My daughter is 2 so not really old enough to tell us if it's comfortable or not and she has a pretty big head already.
She recently decided after watching Racing Stripes that she has to wear her bike helmet while riding her spring horse in the living room so I figure now is the time to get a riding helmet while she thinks it's cool!! Lol |

Oh fabulous! I will check it out.
I wear a 7 1/2 or a 7 5/8 cowboy hat and it is dang near impossible to find anything to fit my head!

I am the ball cap queen so I sure don't mind having something on my head, I actually prefer it! My helmet fits great, but the dang thing is just too hot....maybe i'll try the Tipperary Sportage. It seems like most people on here are really getting along well with it. Thank you for the information! |

I agree with everything NTO said too....Troxels fit terrible, look like a mushroom, and give your head a top heavy feeling...Tipperary sportage fit great, are low profile, very well ventilated, and you forget you're wearing them. Oh, and I am a ball cap queen too....I almost feel like I have to be wearing one when I'm outside especially if I'm riding or working around the farm. It keeps the sun out of my eyes and keeps my hair where it belongs. |

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Troxel! It is the more expensive one with the brown leather cover... can't remember what model it is. Fits me better than any of the others have. I don't really care what it looks like, it's comfortable and does it's job. Laying in a hospital bed with someone wiping drool off your face is much more unattractive then my helmet, ;).
Try different brands and see what fits you best. We aren't wearing these to make a fashion statement ladies. If you find one that you think makes you look pretty - send me the link! :) |

Location: Sweet Home Alabama | I'm glad she is wearing them. I don't ride in one but a few years ago a law in Alabama was passed that at any 4H sanctioned event, anyone under 18 must wear a helmet while on horseback. I was on a mounted drill team. Not gonna lie, most everyone, parents included, weren't thrilled. Some girls even quit. I was like 12 so I didn't really care as long as I got to ride. We opened up for HS rodeos and PCA rodeos and went out of state to compete. I always felt that people were judging us, especially at the High School rodeos. The only place I really felt comfortable with one was at the 4H state show and flag practice, where everyone else wore one. I stayed in 4H and on the drill team until Jr year. After years of feeling like we were looked down upon for helmets, I thought they were lame. But I've since grown up and I'm finally reaching the point where I realize my peers judgment doesn't matter. So go Fallon!! |

It took me a bit to remember what website I found it on, but here it is! They have a couple of different versions but he picked out this one: http://www.equestriancollections.com/product.asp?groupcode=HF00052 |

Thank you, I definitely agree with you. After my brain injury I was afraid to ask if he'd be okay with me riding again, but when I talked to him about it he said "as long as you wear a helmet from now on". Then I asked him if he'd wear one with me, and he said after seeing me knocked senseless laying in a hospital bed for a week, it was a "no brainer" for him to wear a helmet too :) |
