Location: Phoenix | Looking to start my horse on a joint supplement. Normally I would use Adaquan, but right now he's a glorified trail horse and I can't really justify it. I won't totally rule it out, but I thought I'd see what people prefer and see if they have any experiences with Cosequin or Platinum Performance… those are the ones that seem to have the best and most consistent reviews that are well known.
Horse in question is 16, but he's got arthritis in his hocks. His hocks were injected three years ago but I never kept up with the maintenance. I'd like to try a feed-through supplement just to see if it improves anything and if not then I'm fine injecting. I just want to keep him comfortable and improve his joint health.
What are your experiences with Platinum? The normal or the CJ? What about Cosequin? Others that you like? Thanks in advance for your input. |

| I just started platinum today as a matter of fact. Lol. Have you considered pentosan? Especially if he already has issues. It is way cheaper than adequan and I find it's working awesome! |

Location: Home....Smiling M Farms | Cosequin is the best oral joint supplement on the market. It's the most palatable and there are results to back it up. |

Location: Arkansas | This is my first entry on here. Been following you guys for several months, just soaking up the knowledge! I don't barrel race but have friends that do. I have 5 horses currently, ranging in ages from 8 to 36. My three oldest (36, 20, and 15) are on Platinum CJ and I'm amazed by it. Dan, my 36 year old, bucks and kicks and acts like he's 3. He's a pasture ornament, but from watching him carry on I think I could leg him back up to ride again! They all look and feel great, and the company is awesome to work with. I can't say enough good things about this product. |

| Lubrysin, I have seen it work wonders on my horses, and started giving it to my old dog, within 3 days he is back to jumping up on the couch (he hasn't don't this in over 3 months, and he is allowed) |

| I'm a platinum user as well.
I did some math and it was less expensive for my two, to buy the regular PP. Then, with the growing filly, I individually bought the osteon product to add into just her feed. I also have my ageing Border Collie on PP for his joints. I love their products and they work. |

| I started using GLC 5500 RX it has long running test results from an independent study and is the most absorbed feed through on the market. I can get you information on it if you like. I put my daughters 11 yr old mare on it last summer, she had started getting fussy at the gate and her times where up and down. I was so amazed at the change in her she started traveling much better , started walking through the gate again, she took 2 seconds off her pole times and stayed running 21's and 22's which use to be just here and there type of run. We had a mare here on Cosequin and switched her over as well she has been feeling much better and playing and bucking . We also had a friend start a mare on in last year who had been hurt the fall before and vet thought she may never be sound again. The mare has come back very strong and has been getting 1D and 2D checks all summer and winter. I have tried a lot of different ones and this one seems to really do what they say it will. |

Location: Oregon | For the price, amount you feed, palatability, and ingredients I have found that Tight Joints Plus works the best for my trail horses and I'm super happy with the product. I have an 8 year old and a 25 year old and they are both on it, and the old guy has been on it for two years and no longer need Adaquan.
I've tried Cosequin ASU, Lubrysyn, Fluid Flex, and others, and TJP works best for my horses. But, I believe that what might work for one horse might not work for another so it's a trial and error to find the one that works best for your horse. |

Location: Piedmont, OK | I love Animal Element products that can be catered to each individual horse. All of mine get the Performance Detox and for those in intense training or being hauled a lot I add the Product X. If I have one with an injury I can add Cissus. If I have one with a joint issue I can add MSM. and there are no fillers in any Animal Element products. |

Location: Phoenix | Thanks for the responses. I liked the price of the plain PP, but the CJ seemed a little out of reach considering I'm not roping or anything on him. I really appreciate the responses! |

That's why I chose PP and added Osteon just to my filly that needs it ...... |

Location: Phoenix | The ASU Plus has Hyluaronic Acid, regular does not. Actually started looking at the 4-n-1 HA or the Matrix 5 H/A....I like the idea of a pelleted form. Why are there so many?!?! |

I don't know but it makes my head spin! I think my older gelding might be getting some arthritis in his hocks and there are just way too many options. |

Location: Smack in the middle of WA! | I'm a platinum fan! It's a good all around supple mentioned and my 2 don't have any joint issues so I'm using it more for maintenance. If I was going to add a joint supplement I'd add tight joints plus to the platinum! |
