 Don't Wanna Make This Awkward
Posts: 3106
Location: Texas | I am about to pass the 150 mark on the scale and I have stretch marks on my stomach. Most days i'm okay but sometimes I just feel so depressed.. I've got my self into this cycle where I will buy healthy foods and eat good for maybe 1 day but then I just get sad about my body and say well "one bad meal won't hurt what I already look like".. But I know it also won't help. I've felt so many changes in my body, breathing is a little harder, riding is harder, walking up stairs or walking to class i'm out of breath, I fel sick and groggy most days. You would think seeing and feeling how bad my eating habits and lack of excersise is for me would be enough to change, but I have such a hard time doing so.. Any advice on how to get motivated? |

Location: TN | I've been struggling with getting motivated to exercise too. In the last couple days though I've decided that it's time to quit pigging out and being lazy because I need to strengthen my core for a few reasons: it's weak and has given me some back problems lately, I would like to be in shape and feel good, and most importantly I need to strengthen my core to work on my balance and body position in my turns.
So I started the 30 day plank challenge tonight and I'm trying to eat sensibly (not denying myself any certain foods, just eating smaller portions of unhealthy things and trying to make healthier choices). The goal is to gain muscle and strength, not lose weight, so we'll see how it goes. My motivation is mostly coming from wanting to ride better. Think about something that would really drive you to get fit and go with it. You can do it girl! |

No matter how crappy I feel and how much I know that my eating is affecting my health I can't do it on my own and need the thought of other people seeing/reading what I eat and do to get me moving. And guess what... IT WORKS! If you want to try MFP my name on there is brlrcr22,
I also worked up an incentive program with my mom, I do a weekly weigh in and send her the results, she keeps a tally and every ten pounds we do something for it like go out for a healthy dinner together or for the first ten lbs I bought myself a new pair of jeans lol but it's awesome having my mom on board with me and cheering me on and going to her house and seeing her little tally sheet.
Another thing I did was get a polar loop fitness band. It tracks my steps and gives me a rough estimate of calories burned. Wearing it on my wrist helps keep me honest with myself and active. |

Location: Oklahoma | A gym friend!!!!!! I was working out 5-6 days a week for an hour to an hour and a half this time two years ago. Why? Not because I hated myself, but because my best friend encouraged me and really got me into it. I could go a few days a week by myself, but once she got transferred to a different branch two hours away I completely stopped going. I was in pretty good shape (not going around in a two piece in public, but I was happy with my strength!), but gained everything back and lost a lot of muscle. I need to start going again.... But I know I'm not a determined enough person to do it alone. Have someone to keep you accountable and let's you enjoy the process! |

| Read the post Fairweather has about overweight riders. It got me motivated just reading the whole thing. I am telling myself that since I am getting my horse in shape, I have to get in shape, too. It's not fair to him if he has to work out but I don't. Strangely, that is working, at least for today, lol! Just take it one day at a time and one meal at a time. So what if you mess up one meal- you have 2 more to get right. Walk in place during commercials or do kind of movement. If you need some one to do this with, you can do it with me. |

I started this a few months ago and I feel amazing. Good luck! |

Location: NC | I am right there with you. I weighed 128 before I got pegnant last year and had always been 128-132. Then during the pregnancy I started packing on the pounds, then got a new job that was a desk job and had me getting off too late to ride after work. Next thing I know I am 207lbs!! After baby I went to 170 after the first month. Now almost a year later I am still 150. I wouldn't care so much but it is ALL in my waist. I have stretch marks all over my thighs, stomach and boobs. When I look at myself in the mirror I want to cry. My husband doesn't complain but when I complain to him he just says well eat less and work out everyday with me, ride bikes on the weekend, etc... BUT with a baby in the house its hard. and if during my free time I am working out that means I am not riding. I hardly get to ride at all as it is, I don't want to give up what little time I have to ride to work out. Then on top of that my baby CLINGS to me when I come home from work wont let me put him down for a good hour after I get home. So by then its time to eat dinner and get him ready for bed and by then I need to go to bed.
Sorry for such a long reply but your post really hit home for me. I FEEL your pain. I feel so depressed between my body and my lack of time to ride I have thought about just giving up and sellign out. Which then makes me feel that much more depressed... |

Location: Alberta | Find out about any exercises classes in your town, at a fitness centre? Church? Whether it be a specific class or if there are any walking groups...another option is getting a trainer who can help you with meal plans and a workout plan....YES they cost money but they help to keep you accountable, doing a lifestyle change is NOT easy AND 1 day does not make you a failure, dust yourself off and keep rolling. Look into Weight Watchers meetings and join, WW is a great program and the meetings definitely help to empower everyone!
You can do this! |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | even if you can just do 10 minutes of something...some exercise every day you will start to develop a habit. You can build on that habit!
The 30 day challenge app is a good one. The workouts are quick and you just get in a routine of doing it. Try getting up a few minutes early to do it before you hop in the shower for work. Then it's done. Any other exercise you manage to get during the day is a bonus at that point!
Also...I mostly distance ride these days. One trick some do is to ride a mile then walk their horse for a mile. Trot a mile..jog with the horse a mile. etc. Accomplishes riding/conditioning/exercise for both horse and rider. |

| I put on the pounds having 4 kids in 4 years, staying at home with them, not even thinking about exercise or diet. I lost the weight when I decided to start riding. I had joined a gym and I told my husband it was like an ego boost everyday, once you could see the changes people would come up and tell me great job, etc. - it felt good and I got hooked on going to the gym and the mental boost it gives you from working out. Getting older is quite a motivator too, I am 54 and want to stay healthy. My husband's side of the family is palgued with health issues, some heriditary, some created by lifestyle, but all could benefit from clean eating and exercise. I want my husband healthy and around for a long time so I cook him very healthy meals. It is just not about today but taking care of ourselves for the future. His family has a history of an eye disease that causes blindness, his mother is losing her sight - very sad. Research shows a healthy diet can tremendously reduce the progess of this disease. Hubby takes vitamins for his eye per his eye doctor, he gets organic fresh spinach every day along with other dark leafy vegetables, no processed or junk foods. Once or twice a week we will have something "bad". I buy him dynamic greens, an antioxidant powder that he drinks daily. He is the only one in his famliy that has made any changes- it just blows me away that the other siblings don't do anything to help themselves.
I have very little discipline to work out on my own so I attend group classes, fun and motivating and I will bust my but in there but on my own, not so much.

Location: North Dakota | It helps me to not look at the big picture because when I do that that thought of having to lose 60lbs is VERY DAUNTING!! So I take it one day at a time and I break down the day into before noon, after noon, and after 6 pm. I try to eat my carbs before noon so my body has all day to break them down and burn them off. Afternoon, when I'm craving chocolate, etc, I make sure to have something healthy to replace it, or if I want a piece of chocolate I eat just one and not the whole bowl. After 6 is when I try to eat the least amount of carbs and big meals. Veggies & lean meats is what I try to stick to. I also have a workout buddy that is at the gym with me to help me push through when I'm about to give up. The first two weeks is what I've found to be the hardest, but once your in a routine it becomes easier and you'll actually look forward to working out and enjoying it. Once you start working out you'll find that you feel so good you don't want to put garbage in your mouth. Some days when the motivation isn't there I just look out my window and look at my horse. I think about what we can do together and I know because he is strong that I need to be strong. So its sort of fear of falling off or lawn darting off the front of my horse that makes me hit the gym:) Plus I just feel better:) You can do it...You just have to start!!! |

Location: East TN | I'm in the same boat. I went from 185 before pregnancy to 245 afterwards. I lost maybe a pound between when I had my son in April and the first of January. All of my weight loss has been in the past month. Since I stopped eating so late at night and not eat much junk food, I've dropped down to 225 in a month (20lbs). I now find myself with more energy and motivation to ride again. :) |

| So I'm gonna be the odd one out ... Gym friends help but at the end of the day YOU are the only one responsible for what you do, how you eat, and how you feel. Thus, my motivation is to better myself one run, one lift, one day at a time.
Set a realistic goal - attain it and set another one. Loosing weight in a healthy manner (so it doesn't come back quickly) is a very hard thing to do. Due to my family history, I am a walking time bomb if I don't step up to the proverbial plate and make positive choices every day. I am my own motivation.

I hired a personal trainer to help me start. She held me accountable for showing up, plus they are expensive so you don't want to waste the money. That's the best investment ever. It's been about a year and now we only meet once a week, and that's just so she can spot me when lifting heavy, or to give me some additional tips.
Eating clean is super key. Fruits, veggies, lean meats. Tuna, turkey, and chicken. That's not to say I don't "cheat". Yesterday I had a beer and some fries at a bar. Today, I'll be at the gym lifting. Don't do just cardio, LIFT HEAVY!!! You will be amazed at the changes your body will go through by lifting weights.

| Working out definitely helps, but you lose weight in the kitchen. Map out your carbs and calories. Read up on high fat, high protein diets. Read up on how easily grains/flour are metabolized as sugar, which gets stored into fat.
If youre not losing, I would like to bet that through the week, your carbs are too high. Fruits, candy, drinks, bread, deserts, pasta, sauces, potatoes, dressings, are off the charts for carbs. Most of us would have to work out for 8 plus hours to burn the carbs off we eat in a day.
You might be doing yourself a disfavor by thinking low fat is the way to go. Go for a nice walk, it doesn't even have to be a mile, just go for one. Just get out your front door and get moving. I don't have many friends that have the want or ability to be in the gym. They all have time for a walk. I have time for a walk.
Changing your life style into eating differently means thinking differently. You shop differently, cook differently. You don't buy gas station food anymore. It's a lot different. It can be extremely satisfying if you make sure you don't get hungry. That in itself is a chore, because choosing the right foods can be daunting.
Get online and do some research on a lifestyle change and get started! I'm on phase two. Went grain free in September, now bringing carbs to a screeching halt for the first time in my life. I'm so excited. |

Here is your question... Any advice on how to get motivated...
Every journey begins with the first step. You have to first make a decision that you want things to be different, and then you take that first step. If you are waiting for other people to motivate you or get you motivated, then you are setting yourself up for failure. True winners don't need motivation from the outside, because it comes from the inside. You should definitely seek out others that have the same goals because that keeps the flame ignited in you. There is no easy answer... You just decide what you want and you do it. The only thing stopping you is you. Make no excuses about why you can't do this or you can't do that. If there is an obstacle in your path, you find a way over, under, or around it. You wake up everyday and do what you have to do. And don't expect instant results. Good things come to those who wait. Draw strength from the Lord, know that He is on your side and will help you accomplish your goals!
Now that you're all motivated, just get started! ;)
YOU CAN DO IT!

I LOVED lifting... that's why it was so hard on me to watch my friend move. It seems like at my gym it's about 50:50 males to females, but its about 95% males that lift. I know that it's all in my head... but I don't really want to be the only girl lifting! We used to have a group of 3 to 4 of us that stuck together and did it. We were doing a program from a website... I think it was three capital letters. Kicked my butt and I couldn't walk for 2-3 days afterward, but I started to crave it! I think I'll look into doing something not so extreme. I get off at noon today and have to go buy horse feed..... I might as well hit the gym while I'm town!! |

| The KISS method I use to lose weight is to eat 100 grams of lean protein per day and keep my carbs under 80 grams per day. The weight flies off. Calorie counting and exercise never has effected my weight loss much. Keeping my carbs under 80 grams per day keeps me losing weight and eating over 100 grams of lean protein(fish, chicken, steak, tenderloin) keeps me from getting hungry so it makes weight loss MUCH easier. I don't do hungry at ALL!! I make sure almost all my protein comes from meat because it fills me up much more than protein shakes and greek yogurt and doesn't spike your blood sugar with carbs. I try to spread my protein out to at least 30 grams per meal. Just to test it out....eat 4 ounces of grilled chicken breast with your next meal and see how much room you have for unhealthy carb loaded junk food after that. All this to say....I'm not perfect and I'd live on spaghetti, shells and cheese, and Mexican if I could but its very important to me to be healthy and not too heavy therefor I push aside the XXL spaghetti and make better food choices. I do use exercise to improve my fitness but I never use it to help lose weight....actually I have almost always gained weight when I've really gotten into exercising a lot for some reason....seriously! |

| I would really recommend working with a personal trainer! That way, you are working with someone who can help you develop a plan to reach YOUR goals, and who can teach you to do the exercises properly - so you get the best results possible, and don't injure yourself. Also, I think working with a personal trainer can really help with motivation for a few different reasons: 1) You're paying for their time...and probably don't want to throw that money away! 2) You have someone to hold you accountable - you have an appointment with them, and they expect you to show up. 3) They can help you push through the last bit of a workout when you're ready to quit!
I would also think about working with someone to put together a meal plan. I always eat the worst when I don't have something planned out/prepared ahead of time. |

Sometimes you gain weight working out because muscle weighs more than fat ... BUT takes up less space. It's not just about the number on the scale. |

I got my coat hooked on my horn in a training session and it ticked me off that I didn't have the core strength to not get thrown forward. So everytime I want to take a day off or put a little less weight into my lift. I remind myself of little moments like that. Then proceed to talk *hit to myself lol. I am blessed to own really nice horses so I feel that I owe it to them to be the best rider I can be. God gave me these horses and I intend to not take them for granted. |

There's a lot of truth to this.
It's tough somedays, but it becomes a habit. We eat tons of veggies (except potatoes and corn), no fruit, no wheat products, no sugar. You break the habit of grabbing something quick. My current addiction is sugar snap peas... I keep small bags of them instead of chips. Very little alcohol (as in a couple of glasses of wine every 2 -3 weeks). There's tons of calories in alcohol. :-(
When I want something bad, I try to think about my goals with my horse. I want out of the 2D and to be consistently in the 1D...therefore, I need to lose a bit to be as tough as I possibly can. My horses are my best motivation. Follow Jackie J on FB if you want to see someone that is absolutely hard core about busting her ass everyday to get better. |

I absolutely love lifting, too. I have to force myself to do the treadmill when I go to the gym. I got a fitness tracker for my wrist. There's nothing more satisfying than getting the fireworks when I meet my goal for the day. I've gained 20 lbs since I started nursing school 3 years ago. Now that I've graduated I have no excuse not to work out. I'm still trying to get my schedule right since I work nights and my gym is only open 4am-11pm. I really wish it was open at 2am when I can't sleep. |

okay heres how you do it......tie a twinkie to a string....now tie that to a very very long stick....have someone sit in the back of a truck holding the swinging twinkie.....and drive off.
Now chase it.
I have a better idea... Go buy a full length mirror... Put it in your bedroom, so the first thing you see when you get out of bed every day is Yourself... If you're happy with that, so be it. |

| Do not skip meals... If you over eat a meal, don't think that you are doing your body a favor by skipping the next meal. you have to eat to keep your metabolism kicked in high. If you over eat, just go for an extra walk that day, or get one of those fitness rubber bands and do some upper body workouts to save on your knees and feet. Also the rule that you are not suppose to eat after a certain time at night is not true, the body will metabolize "clean, healthy" food no matter the time of day or night. You just have to make sure you are eating because of hunger not boredom. High protein is a good snack before bed, your muscles will use it to repair themselves after a workout. Also, to those that are trying to cut all carbs out of their body, that is a very hard thing to do. Beans, vegtables, fruits all contain carbohydrates and your body needs those carbs. The brain alone uses 130 grams of carbohydrates per day. Carbohydrates are also necessary for serotonin production. I think the key to getting fit is recognizing that food is fuel for your body not for pleasure, and that working out can be simple. It doesn't mean a gym membership, three mile runs, or even an hour long workout. It means getting up and moving all through out the day. Don't take the elevator, take the stairs, when riding always post(it burns more than you would think), instead of using a wheel barrel to do morning chores walk back and forth to throw hay, when your watching tv at night use the commercial breaks as goals to do x-amount of an exercise before its over. And most importantly is to love yourself enough to give yourself the attention. A lot of us moms put ourselves on the backburner for our families. We deserve some of our attention too! Good luck to everyone! |

| That's what I need, someone to put together a meal plan for me. I know what I should and shouldn't eat, it's just getting motivated to eat the healthy way. Plus also to come up with something to "take" to work so you don't eat out all time for lunch. Brown bag menus. Most of the time I just throw a can of soup in my bag. |

Location: North of the 49th Parallel | Have 3 knee surgeries and then have your surgeon tell you that you're gonna need a 4th because it was still so bad. That got my butt in the gym real quick to strengthen. I had done 3 months in the gym around May-July, but I was just running. Now I'm more lifting weights and running is secondary. Am I anywhere near where I want to be? Nope, but I'm getting there. I gained about 20 pounds after my second knee surgery.
But as far as getting in the gym everyday- PREWORKOUT. There are some days that I'm tired and simply don't want to but preworkout sure gets my butt in the gym and motivated. Even at 10 pm after school and working. After 2 or 3 weeks or so, working out becomes an addiction and something you crave. |

Hence the reason most men who normally have a lower body fat than woman seem to burn calories easier than we do.

| Well I sounded just like you. Then it hit me I needed to quit talking and start doing, but I had never worked out. I certainly didn't eat right. I found ATHLETIC RIDER-- Leah is a coach. She interviewed me- asked what do I eat, if it looks good I eat it, if it was good I eat two. Ice cream with the news every night, Ding Dong out of the freezer for a snack, Breakfast Coffee 3 sugars 3 creams, Gummy bears when I drive, Rasperita's when I get home from work. I really should have weight alot more. Leah asked me why I wanted to get more fit and eat right-- I told her I have a really nice filly I want to run the best we can..Since I turned 50 I've slowly been putting on weight... when my barrel horse turns left, my spare tire goes right and I horn jockey which makes my arms hurt because I'm not strong enough to hold myself on!.. This was not me-- I have been very successful in IPRA, MSRA,MBRA, NBHA, IBRA WPRA, was I ready to except not being quite as good as I once was... ??? HMMMMM.. So I started Shakology- which is a meal replacement, The first month came with a set of DVD for the exercise she felt you would need. I do PIYO- Piliates/Yogo/Balance/strength. 6 days a week. I was in bootcamp for 60 days in which you take a picture of what you are eating. I learned what was CLEAN eating. How to make better choices. Have a shake every morning. Do the daily workout with a sweatie selfie picture to the 12-15 other women in my group. All riders. I learned SO much. Portion control. 5-6 times a day to eat, lots of water.. which I don't really like but do it... I started Nov 15th, that is over Thanksgivings, Christmas, New Years... parties, family get togethers to eat.. I lost 17 lbs and 18 inches in 60 days. I am stronger than I have been in 3 years. I no longer am looking for the horn. My A Streak of Fling ran 8th in the 1D out of 108 entries last weekend. Pretty sure it was because she didnt' have to drag my spare tire around all three barrels. :) google Athletic Rider-- tell Leah you were set by a barrel racer! it works. OH and I knew I would not get up early, I don't like to go back out once I'm home after work. So doing everything at home worked for me. Sorry so long but I have changed my eating life style... I don't like to exercise but I like the results so I do it. Burpies are the worst. I still just watch sometimes.. :)

| I have found that being overweight is a symptom of my whole life being out of control. I always thought I was to busy to work out and eat right. Then I looked around at my life and realized that everything was slipping. I didn't have proper goals, the house was a mess, the cars were a mess, my hair, make up, and general look was sloppy. I had to sit down and realize that I was spending too much time checking fb, reading crap on the internet (not saying you don't find valuable info on net), spending time in useless pursuits. So I did what any person in my postion would do. I started in tiny increments. I set micro goals in my life. I set the timer on my phone to do the following X # of times per week:
5 min folding laundry (I hate folding laundry)
20 min cleaning
20 min working out( sports with kids, walking, ect)
30 min reading
2 min planning meals
You can even get your kids on the same type of program. I figured once they grow up they have to learn a schedule so they might as well start now.
I feel for me if I go with the flow, I am the boulder in the river. I have to set times and goals or I am to lazy to do anything. I think a good book to start reading is The Willpower Instinct on Amazon. It gives a different opinion on willpower. |

| Two years ago, we organized a biggest loser contest at work. Being on a team motivated me. I knew that I didn't want to let my team down. I lost 30 pounds in 5 months. I did it by dropping processed foods and eating fresh foods. Not drinking Cokes was a big part of it.
I have gained 5 of those pounds back in the last two years. Going nonstop and feeling exhausted is what leads me to bad food choices. I leave for work at 6:30 AM, get home about 4:00 or 5:00, put on my boots and begin cleaning up after and exercising 3 horses. When I go inside, I tend to head for the easy (bad) food. |

| I bought a fitbit and have connected with a few of my friends. It has made me get up and move.. I dont want them beating me in steps. I also know that I need to take better care of myself. I have an amazing horse right now that I know I am holding back. I have at least 50lbs to lose and that is very overwhelming to me. But hopefully this time I can stick to it. I also use my fitness pal. I really try to just look at one day at a time. |

| I changed jobs from being active to a desk job and winter was coming on. My horse however was and is my biggest motivator. I could not keep up with him leaving the first barrel. Always behind and he is better than what I was allowing him to be. I wouldn't consider myself overweight my goal was to get strong. I joined a crossfit type gym in town. It was a long winter and I was not completely dedicated but as spring started rolling around I began to get there more and more until I was in there six days a week. I love the high it gives me (almost like barrel racing) and when I want to quit and I think I'm dying I think of my poor horse when he wants to quit and I won't let him. Never thought I would stick with it once I started riding again in the spring but started going at 5am and haven't really looked back. Find something you love to do and it will make getting there much easier. Also something I always think of--put on your workout clothes first- then decide if you are going to the gym. Good luck! |

| I started my fitness journey when my horse got hurt last year and I was out of barrel racing for the season.. I did it for myself to stay in shape for riding.. I now go to the gym 6 days a week for 2 hours of weight training and 1 hour of cardio.. I'm doing it all for my own health plus to ride better. I've noticed my posture is better and my horse likes less weight too!!! |

Location: Kansas | I got motivated last summer when my best friend from college mentioned that we should do the 30 day challenge workouts and keep each other motivated. She'd had a baby almost a year earlier and wanted/needed someone to keep her accountable, which is exactly what I needed too. We texted each other daily when we'd done the workout, or to say we were excited for a rest day. We did two months of challenges "together" and since the workouts are short, they fit into our busy schedules. I did a couple of them at my horse trailer before rodeos. lol. I'm now doing the 30 day ab & squat challenge, which is tough in February since it doesn't have 30 days, so I'm having to double up on some of the days but I am determined to get through it. |

Yep!! I don't kill myself if I go over my daily limit by 100 calories, but it does make me more aware. Yesterday I was about to eat a slice of peanut butter pie I had in the freezer.... until I found out it was 600 calories!! I had 400 left for the day and hadn't had dinner, so I had to will power to say that it wasn't worth it! Good luck!! This is my 3rd time of trying to actively do it.... I always see results, it just gets tedious to enter every little thing. |

I feel the same way until I bought some protein bars at Target - the InZone ones. They are a little high on sugar, but keep me full and have 200 cals and 14 grams of protein, they dont taste all that bad either. Its really helped so far, and then I have a lean cuisine pizza for supper. Try a few, I bet they will help. Look for one that is over 10 grams of protein, less than that and its just like a snack not a meal replacement. |

Mine tracks the steps I take and whatever cardio I log and it adds it into my alloted calories for the day. |

Location: Texas | I have also struggled with this then one day I said enough is enough. I got the book Whole30 and started a diet plan. I hate breakfast so I drink a Lean 7 shake for breakfast. It keeps me full all morning. I eat almonds for a snack between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. I work out of my truck so this is best for me. At lunch I eat protein, veggies, and fruit and dinner only a protein and veggie. Then I normally do boiled egg whites for my late snack. In a week I dropped a pant size. You have to get to that point you are ready to change and do it. Make it a lifestyle. When I am out of shape and carry extra pounds it affects my life and my horses performance. You can do this. |

If you're happy with that, so be it. Lord, Komet, if I did that I would NEVER get out of bed! I would be to afraid of the monster in the mirror! Hey.. I'm old, male and ugly... I only had to buy one mirror... it shattered long ago...
Hey now....if anyone ties a donut or a monster to a string....I'm gonna chase it LMAO!!!! |

Location: Lewisburg, Tennessee | This may sound silly.....but my horse motivates me to get fit. I figure if I'm out there riding and conditioning him 3-4 times per week, it's only fair that I do the same - we are a team and if I'm slacking off and not watching what I'm eating or excercising then my balance and timing get off. |

| I just got this program called 21 Day Fix from Beachbody. Im on day 18 and its been really good. The program comes with food containers, protein powder (Shakeology), food lists, and 2 workout DVDs.......30 minute workouts everyday. I have been getting up half hour earlier and getting it done before work and it just makes you have a better day. |

Location: California | My husband and I are going to try to have a baby this year, and I want to get to a better spot weight and health wise BEFORE I get pregnant. That is very motivating for me!
Also, I got a Fitbit Flex and all of the girls in the office have a Fitbit as well. We do the daily and weekly challenges on there and it really gets me up and moving as I don't want to lose. I also track my water intake on the Fitbit app which has made me so much more aware of getting enough water during the day.
I also have been walking at lunch. I only have a half an hour lunch, but by the time I drive to the park, change into my tennis shoes, and get walking, I get in a good one and half mile walk at a good pace. If you are like me, when you get home sometimes you just don't want to do anything, so walking at lunch gets it out of the way for me.
The other benefit of walking at lunch is that I don't have time to go grab fast food. So I end up packing a lunch which will always be healthier than Taco Bell or McDonald's. |

I've seen the infomercial. It makes sense. Is it easy for you to get everything together? |

Yes, its very easy. The food lists are all in the book for you. And you can also find meal plans online. |

Location: SE Missouri | I am on a serious lifestyle change journey! I just completed round one of Chirothin and literally your 42 days turns your world upside bc you have to focus on ever bite that goes in your mouth! I lost 18# and 11.5 inches in 43 days. Lots of water, Lean protein, fresh veggies (low glycemic index only..) and fruits (not all are allowed).. No grains no dairy no sodas no processed food (basically nothing white beside cauliflower lol) It really hit me hard when I hit a wall and work stress got the best of me! You learn where you sabotage yourself and that it really doesn't take long to fix a meal! I work on the rod constantly and that will always be a tough obstacle but I will get to where I should be. I finally feel like I have the tools to do so!
You check in by text every morning, there is a private Facebook pge, and you do a face to face check in also! I Feel great.. |
