I'm really interested in starting my own business in the horse industry. I would really like to haul horses across the country. From lIke seller to buyer or helping haul horses to shows. I would love to go to different areas in the country and meet different people in the horse world. I have plenty of expirence with hauling same with my fiance. We would like to do it together. Just wondering if I can get some of your inputs about what you think about it and if it's a good idea. Also what would be required dot wise and such to haul. I would rather haul with a pick up and a nice trailer. Any advice is great. Also if you know someone who does this type of business if I could possibly contact them about it also. Thank you :)

Well just speaking as someone who could theoretically be a customer, I am that customer that would probably drive you insane. My horse is my life and I am VERY particular about his needs and likes/dislikes. I would only trust him to someone with a spotless reputation, top notch equipment, very knowledgeable and meticulous and for your sake you'd better have one heck of an insurance policy.

I used to haul commercially. You couldn't pay me now to do it. High insurance, horses that destroy your trailer, etc. Plus, the wear and tear you put on a vehicle.... If you do it, you need to think about layover places, etc.
