OSU power slide was one bad a$$ rope horse. Idk if he's still alive but I would love to have one of his offspring.

It seems like they breed a TON of horses every year.. i found a old sale add i think 2011. That listed 8 of there studs (not for sale just showing sires) my horses sire alone has produced over 60 offspring and those are just the ones that were registered. To me that is alot for a horse kept on home mares

That article explains a LOT about the GB gelding that I had, lol. (the not handling them until they're 4 yr olds part)  He was a 7 yr old and scared to death of people.  He had been through some rough handling when I got him and he never really recovered mentally.  I gave him to my sister-in-law because she loves him.  He gets to be ridden a few times a year and go elk hunting in the fall, but otherwise he hangs out in her front pasture and looks pretty :-) He didn't look like this when I got him, but he definitely bloomed with good care.

Funny you say that my mare was handled i know at least as a 2 year old (now 4) she is beautiful ...usually the first thing someone says about her. On the other hand though she is over the top spooky and im deeming her fractious minded till further notes.

I had a GB gelding years ago - he looked JUST like yours!! He didn't have an upper lip as he was attacked by coyotes as a foal so we called him "Smiley." He was a neat horse.

This is the pedigree on mine.  I can't remember his registered name, we call him T-bone.

We've known Ferd & Gib for years. They have had some super horses & produced some super horses.
They are 2 very smart men.
They have lived just south of Belton MO their whole lives, the Belton MO Library is named after their family .
You won't find any one who knows any more about horses than those 2.... now getting them to tell you what they know is a whole different story

My dad bought some broodmares from them back in the '70s. They do it all old school. They raise good, solid using horses. If you are driving along 71 highway south of Belton and north of Peculiar, you drive along one of their horse pastures. I was coming home from work one night and traffic was stopped. One of their stallions had chased a mare through the fence and out onto the highway. There was a guy with a halter trying to catch them, unsuccessfully. We ended up widening the hole they came out of. The ranch isn't as big as it used to be, but they still raise some awesome horses!

Does Good Bros. Cattle Co. have a website?  A friend of mine is looking at a gelding from them and wanting to look into them more.  Thanks!

I know it’s pretty late after this is posted... but we’re ridin a bunch of horses for them. We have a handful of OSU Power Slides.. a lot of their horses are bred that way along with Buck Spot which is a Hollywood Gold out of a Skipper W/King bred mare. Pretty much every one of their horses is King Hankins which is by King... these ones are known to be a little cinchy. Everyone of their horses we have is the whole package. Good bone and feet, stout, either big and tall or at least good size. Fast, athletic, and cowy. They’re all good looking. We have a couple for sale if anyone is interested now or down the road. Their foundation bred horses but they can and will perform with the best of them whether it’s barrels, roping, or on the ranch. Some of the colts can start out pretty bucky but after you get through that they are super super nice.
