What does everyone use for inflammed legs and what's your method of applcation.

The vet has already came and my horse doesn't have an serious injury he's just getting older (18), I typically use absorbine gel but it doesn't seem to do very much.

Also I cold hose his legs after runs already.

Sore No More Clay, wrapped in brown paper or plastic, then a pillow wrap, then a polo wrap. Best ever.

Or:

Runners Relief, then plastic, then pillow, then polo.

BOT Quick Wraps work better than anything I've ever used.   I also just bit the bullet and spent the money on some PHT MagnaCu Tendon Wraps and they are awesome!  I have a mare that will be on stall rest for 90 days for a suspensory tear and sesamoid fracture.....and the only time they aren't on her is when I have them in the house being washed.

I love my BOT wraps, and they do pull out inflammation better than any poultice, sweat, or liniment I've ever used, which I absolutely didn't expect when I bought them to try.  I recently bought a set of the MagnaCu stifle wraps, and I think those might work even better.

If you want to stick to old fashioned, I like Sore No More poultice, and my favorite liniment is a 3 way mix of DMSO, Bigeloil, and glycerin.

I used Runner's Relief without wrapping on my gelding's leg for his inflammation.  Then after a week of RR I started doing 12 hour shifts of BOT quick wraps.  I'll never be without either.

Kwick Relief works great.  They have clay and liquid.
It's alot cheaper than anything else.
The clay is hard to get off.  EQ Wash is the best thing to wash it off with.
Works better than anything else I've tried.

The BOT's have made me lazy...I want a couple more sets.  It takes a lot to make me go through the mess of everything else anymore.

If you can find a dealer on FB they usually have the best deals.  I've seen them on ebay and Amazon though.  I get the 12" all the way around except on my daughters little mare.  She needs a 10" on the front.

I use this. Soaked brown paper, no-bow and a standing bandage.

Numotizine (poultice) Absorbine or absorbine with alcohol/epsom salts/ vinegar/witch hazel/water. The mix will reduce any swelling. Extra vitamin C/K and E with MSM for the inside.

How long do you leave the clay poultice wrap on, I assume it will say how on the packaging. Also what kind of brown paper? I've done standing wraps so I already know that step but never used the other.

I leave mine for 12 hours. I use the brown paper from my feed sacks.  Cut the ends off, then I cut them in half.  I take any plastic off.  Roll up length wise and put in water bucket to soak.  Put my poultice on, then the soaked paper.  You will have to flatten it around the leg, then the no-bow, then the standing bandage. The paper will dry and should just come off when you take the wraps off.

They are on the PHT website.  You just use them the same way you would a no bow wrap with a standing bandage.  They are thinner and conform to the leg nicely so you can get some compression.  I use standing bandages or Saratoga wraps with ours.

Good to hear someone else uses Miracle Freeze Mudd.  I wasn't sure if they still made it or not.  I need to order another bucket. :)

I use the CE magnetX magnets before and ice tight clay poultice aftwerwards with no wrap. I've definitely noticed a difference in my older guy :)

I don't like the gel as much as the liquid, that is awesome.

I would rinse my old mare's whole body with absorbine liniment liquid/water mixture after I hosed her off, and then directly applied the liquid to her lower back, girth area, hips and hocks, then we would put cool pack jelly on her front and back legs and wrap them if she was going to be stalled, otherwise we just turn her out and she's fine.
