I was told this could happen, and sure enough, she does have the little blisters on the inside of her lips. Was told 3 months of lysine would put it to rest. Ya;ll ever heard of such??

cheryl makofka - 2015-02-11 11:48 PM Doesnt vesicular stomatitis have blisters in the mouth as well?
VSV can initially look like herpes. They will present similar with blisters in the mouth and tongue especially. However, while herpes can be cleared rather quickly often VSV will not be as quick and will cause systemic issues - like lesions on the coronary bands, lameness, soreness in joints, etc...
While primarily spread by Culicoidies biting midges, it can also be spread by sandflies. VSV is also a reportable diesease to the USDA. Please do everyone around you a favor and go get your horse checked by a vet NOW!!!
