Hey everyone! So I'm headed off to college next year and I've just been accepted to Southern Utah State in Cedar City with a full ride academic scholarship (YAY!). I live in Idaho and I've applied to two other colleges in my area and have been accepted, but am waiting to see what kind of scholarships I get. In the meantime, I'm assuming I'm headed off to Utah in the fall. I'm looking into what options I have for bringing my two horses with me and boarding them. Does anyone know of any good places to board down there that won't cost me an arm and a leg? An indoor arena would be nice but isn't necessary and pasture boarding is fine. Thanks for any help or advice you can give!

If you would like to PM I could put you in contact with some people from Cedar. Have you checkd into the fairgrounds there? They have a really nice indoor, not sure if they board or not.

So...there is actually only one indoor in Cedar city. It is called the Diamond Z arena. I dont think they have any boarding there but they do have a relationship with the college to allow you to ride there if you board with the college. I'm thinking it is about $95 a month to board at the college and you clean and feed yourself. The only other option I know is at the fiddlers arena, they have a barn with stalls and turn outs it think that one is about $200 a month. It is a free for all, everybody shares the tack room and the feed building. Several ropers board there. They have a outdoor arena there with lights. Not a bad facility but plan on sharing your stuff. The fairgounds are located in Parowan which is 15 minutes north of cedar city, the do have some 12x12 stalls they rent out and are pretty affordable. Again just an outdoor arena there. On facebook there is a group called "Southern Utah's Equine Community" check there, I know there was a thread about the same thing a week or so ago. By the way you will love SUU, Cedar City is the perfect little town. You can PM me if you have other questions.
