Just curious if any of you have tried it.  Been on seasonale for many years and my dr thinks this will work better.....I'm a tad skeptical.

I loved it. Was on it for years. Got off two years ago trying to get pregnant. I would get back on it in a heartbeat. No weight gain, moodiness, nothing.

I was on it for a long time. Then when I went to "refill" my prescription, it seemed as thought they were a different size or shape. It kept slipping out. I heard they had changed the shape to being more oval vs being round. I had to stop using it.

It made me fat. Fat!

I went with the copper T. Thing is awesome, plus no hormones. Good for 10 years.

It's perfect for me.

I was on it for a couple months and hated it. It fell out once and I never felt OK with it again. Hated having to check and didn't like the suspense of "will I feel it?!" When I reach up to check. I've been on the patch for 3 years or so and I love it. I can SEE it (I put it on my butt) and I only have to change it once a week. I would suggest your doctor recommend to get Ortho Evra and not the generic....I'm having issues with the generic patch continuing to stick while in water but it's not annoying enough for me to take a pill everyday. Eff that!

Have you tried the depo shot? It sucks to have it done every 3 months, but I haven't had any side effects from it.

No - I can't even remember what I took before Seasonale, I think I've been on that for about 10 years? I HATE needles! They freak me out. It just seems like the last year or so I've had more bloating, get really tired, just random pms symptoms and started having spotting more often....so I want something that works better. All bloodwork was perfect, even ran labs to check thyroid.

its just a quick little shot in the butt LOL, takes like a second not even kidding you...I've got some "junk" in my "trunk" so I can't feel it LOL.

I haven't had a menstrual cycle for probably a year now with this, not even spotting. I don't cramp, get moody, or anything. I really like it.

I tried the depo shot.. Didn't have my period for 3 month then when I got the 2nd shot it started and never ended.. Tried another shot and had my period about 9 months and had to go back to the pill to make it stop. I only take bc to keep my period more regular and this experience was quite frustrating to me. If it had worked for me hands down I would have stayed with it because the shot is so easy.

Haven't tried the Nuva Ring but my sister has and she likes it, but doesn't love it or hate it. I'm on the Paraguard, copper IUD. Like said before it has no hormones and is good for 10 years! I like it but the first couple months I had some pain and my periods were heavy and weird. I recommend it though!!

I might seriously look into this as the next option.  Be nice not to have to think about it.  Kids are not in my plans....ever...(and yes, I'm old enough to say that)  LOL

I was on the nuva ring for 3 years. I wanted to try the paraguard just because I would not have to worry about it and no hormones... WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE....i had it for a whole year then finally got the **** thing out. It hurt like hell going in and for 2 days after. Then my periods, OH MY GOD... were so heavy. I normally have light ones and on the paraguard it was horrible. My cramps were bad too. I had to double up with a pad and super plus tampons. I never, ever had to do that before. I always worried about it coming through bec the second month on the paraguard, it happened to me one time... that was NOT ok. I also got bad acne. Ask me how or why and I do not know. I've always had good skin but after about a month on that I started breaking out a lot. I was also strange on it... more moody and got anxiety. I asked my doctor how this could be.... since it had no hormones, nothing. She said my periods and cramps should have leveled out in the first 3 to 6 months. Well they didnt... to explain the other problems she said there has been cases where some women are sensitive to copper.. she was right because after I got it out I went back on the nuva ring.... acne cleared up, periods were light again, very little cramping, and I seem sane again lol..... of course everyone is different but that was my terrible experience...

I have a iud last 5 years. I had it put in after my son was born. I love it I discussed all the options with my Dr. This was the best one for me. I had horrible periods before cramps like you wouldn't believe. I had even blacked out due to pain from them. Now very few cramps maybe 2or 3 no periods. No pills shot or patches to remember .

I didn't mind it. It was nice not to try and remember a pill every day. After Id been on it for about 2 years my periods got unbearable terrible cramps, felt like I always had pressure down there. Went off it and didn't take BC for over a year. I can't remember the name of the pills i have now but I haven't had any issues with them. I don't remember any weight gain with the ring.

There is NO increased risk of cervical cancer with the Nuva Ring or IUD's. Cervical cancer is 90% caused by the HPV virus - so your form of birth control is not a risk. IUD's lower your risk of endometrial (uterine) cancer because they thin the lining of your uterus.

I used the Nuva Ring for a year. The only negative thing I could say was that my libido was decreased. But that may have been more to do with the first year of my clinical training in medical school than the actual contraceptive. I was pretty stressed :-) My periods were regular and light. I used a tampon applicator to insert the Nuva Ring which made it easy and it never fell out.

The he beauty of the Nuva Ring is that you can try it for a few months and if you don't like it just go back to pills. No big deal.

I've had the Mirena IUD for the past 4.5 years and I LOVE it. If you want long term birth control its a great option to discuss with your doctor.

I LOVE IT. Been on it for a few years now. If it's falling out, it's not inserted correctly. I got pregnant twice on the pill and the implant. This is the only thing I've had luck with. No pills. No remembering take anything. No periods! The directions day to take it out every 3 weeks, leave it out for a week, then put a new one in. But my doctor told me I can leave it in for 4 weeks then just put in a new one and skip my period. Just take it out for a week every 6 months. So I write a reminder on my mirror once a month and that's it!

Agreed!! I absolutely love it. I have been on it for probably 5 years now and wouldn't change a thing. Super easy to use and it has never even came close to falling out. You can skip your period if you want and my periods are super short and light. Very regular schedule and I completey trust it. I have recommended it to many friends who have all loved it once they tried it.

This is probably why she recommended it.... I'm used to skipping periods with seasonale.  She told me to leave it for 4 weeks at a time, which would essentially cause you to skip.....which makes my life better.

It shouldn't bother you during intercourse, but if it bothers your partner by chance, just take it out and as soon as you're done rinse it off and put it back in. I've never had an issue though

I have used this for close to seven years now. I will not use another form. I'm terrible at remembering to take pills on time. It's been awesome. I have shorter, lighter periods. No more back pain or cramps either. Helps keep my skin a bit clearer. Love it.

I don't blame ya!!! Lol. I really like it. Like I said, the first couple months were frustrating (I had mine in July) but now everything's pretty back to normal. I love that there's no hormones and for those out there who want to have kids someday, the day you take it out is the day you can start trying. Explore all your options, it affects everyone different but I recommend it!

That's horrible your experience was like that, glad you found somethin better! That's like my aunt had the Mirena and loved it and had no problems but my sister got it and just had to take it out because she's been having so many problems. You just never know unfortunately -_-

I HATED THE DEPO!!!!!!!! Before getting on it I hardly ever had my period and not only did the depo regulate it, but it sent it into overdrive. I had my period for 6 months straight and with already being slender and anemic I was in really poor shape. They had to put me on the pill to even everything back out. I've heard other people have had a lot of issues with it too but my mom and sister can handle it fine, just not me. I will NEVER try that one again and was told that the mirena has really similar hormones so I'll steer clear of that too.
