Location: Albany, Georgia | For those of you who ride for someone else, how much do you charge per ride. I recently started riding for a gentleman and he pays for all the expenses (feed, entries, fuel, etc) and I'm just curious what to charge for my time. Some just need general exercise (long trotting) and others and young and take more time. |

Location: Oklahoma | I used to ride for a lady who had a western pleasure mare. I kept the mare legged up for showing since the daughter was in school. I charged $30 per ride. BUT... this mare required extras... |

Location: TN | My boyfriend has been riding 2 colts for some neighbors for $20 or $25 a ride (I can't remember which) per colt. The owners are caring for them (feed, hay, etc.), he's just putting ride time on them.
ETA: If he takes horses in for training/riding and keeps them at our place he usually charges $500 plus feed and hay.

Location: Mississippi | I do 30 days at a time for 600 pluse feed. Doing it for just 20 a ride I was basically working for free if they wouldn't let me bring them to my place. |

| I pay a girl 12$ per hour with a min of 1 hour per horse start to finish max 2 hours. But she is using my equipment, my barn and lights. So her only expence is her time. |

Location: home for the winter...what a dumb idea | Depends a little on the horse ....I do not ride colts or problem horses for less then $30 a ride. If it's just exerciseing a well broke horses for 45 min to an hour then I might do it for 15 if they have more then one. |

Location: Albany, Georgia | Thanks everyone. Back 8 years ago in HS I rode for approx $12 a horse so I figured things had went up! He has 4 horses with me currently and will have 3 more coming so I have to cut him somewhat of a deal I feel. |
