What are you feeding now and are you happy with it? I only fed their Healthy Glo nuggets and GroStrong Minerals, but my horses are really looking and feeling great overall, their coats have a great shine and I'm feeding a lot less grain. Any recommnedations on a high fat supplement and minerals that are comparable?

I was feeding seniorglo. The last 2 days i have switched to purina ACTIVE senior. Via label its about the same as senior glo. PAS 14% protein 10%fat and 18% fiber . SG has 14%protein 8% fat 20% fiber . They have almost identicle sugar and starch. My only choice within 3 hours is purina adm and nutrina. Purina the last 3 years has added many products and reformulated many of there current feeds. Many more controlled starch/sugar products. I wish blue bonnet was available :( i tried to get them

I went to straight oats from the farmer.  And, will be adding Renew Gold and loose minerals.  Along with salt/mineral blocks.  Babies (under 3) get perinneal peanut hay too.

I fed patriot 14% for Years then switched to PRIMEGLO for my broodmare and powerglo for my barrel horses. I also gave the HealthyGlo nuggets to the hard keepers. I switched back in November to Renew Gold bc I liked the science behind it and that it was non gmo. My horses look and act great on it, the real test will be when they blow their coats and I can really see results bc they look like wooly mammoths right now. I feed 1# twice daily of the RG to my hard keeper. She's being legged up now so she also gets alfalfa and I'll give beet pulp if she needs more calories. I've ordered so much of it through TSC that they started stocking it. Lol. I also feel like my easy keepers are doing better on it. And I started everyone on forco about a month ago. I'm looking forward to seeing all my ponies in the spring when they're slicked off.

Alfalfa pellets, Max E Glo rice bran(manna pro), and formula 707 vitamin/minerals. My barrel horse gets Timothy pellets renew gold and PP or the Santa Cruz wellness, I need to study it some more.

I feed safe choice now. i switched before the whole monensin deal but am glad I did. At first I wasn't happy about having to switch but my feedstore just said they wouldn't carry it anymore. A couple months later this all hit so I am glad I did.

Safechoice is milled by Cargill and most of them are run through plants are NOT ionophore free.  I found out the mill where I was getting mine also ran medicated feeds through the same line so I quit feeding it.  Find out where your SC is bagged.

If you are refering to a Purina product in the mid-west, it is milled in St Joesph, MO and is from a total rumensin, etc free plant.

SafeChoice is a Nutrena product, not a Purina product.

The only ADM product I've been feeding lately was Patriot Senior & Healthy Glo nuggets but since all of this has gone down I guess I won't be buying anymore ADM products.
I feed Woody's feeds to many of my horses so I guess I will get my senior feed from them as well.

Thanks Amy I got to wondering if I posted something bass ackwards.  Yes I'm referring to the Safechoice feeds are milled by Cargill and after 3 different conversations with Nutrena they finally admitted that the feed I was getting does come from a medicated feed plant.  I quit using it.  The Purina products in my area come from KC area and it is completely ionophore free.  Purina can be the night and shining armour in this deal if they keep their mills separated.  I also feed Woody's to one of my mares that I run and I will continue to do that.  The rest get whole oats.

I feed Strategy (Purina) too and when I contacted them she said there were two plants that it could have come from and both were ionophore free. I did not have the label or else she could have told me exactly where is came from. I will be using Wood's feed as well this summer.

I've had that happen with Triple Crown and SafeChoice as well.

Triple Crown is a GREAT feed!! I know its made in Minnesota, and not sure how wide spread it is but I know you can buy it outside of MN.

This is my 30 yr old who can no longer eat hay, he gets 8lbs a day and he looks better than he ever did on Purina, Nutrena or custom mix from the feed mill. Its comparable in price to ADM.
