My dad got the brilliant idea a few years ago to buy a treadmill.  He was going to exercise.
Long story short, he used it 1 or 2 days, and it's sat ever since.  My mom has used it about a dozen times and I've logged about a month on it, when I get a chance to go over there and use it.
I've tried convincing my parents that I'm the one who's used it, I really want a treadmill and they aren't using it, so it should come live with me.  Unfortunately, every time I try this, they are like "Oh we are going to use it."

So my next thought is to offer to buy it from them.  But I have no idea what would be a reasonable offer.  I think it was around $1300 new, and it's at least 5 years old.  Probably has less than 200 miles walked/ran on it.  What would you suggest?  It's not a very popular brand, so looking them up hasn't gotten me very far.

All the used treadmills I've looked at and contacted sellers on Craigslist were in the $250+ range. I wound up purchasing a new treadmill last month just because I know what I have. In this case you do too! Best of luck to you!

Hey Nater
My wife wanted one and we bought one out of a exercise place in DesMoines. I think she gave like $900 for it. But it was a pretty expensive one to begin with. It was not one out of their business but one that they had sold a client and she traded it back in for another new one. It has all the bells and whistles on it. Sounds like she gets a new one every year.

After the first week, I only used mine to hang clothes on.  So your parents might night realize it is gone until they see the pile of clothes in the floor.

Karen would probably notice pretty quick if she is like me....her coat hangs on it.....LOL.....I did clean mine off and start back on it. I would offer in the $250-300 range. You can buy them right now for a good price (new and on sale) and especially if you don't need all of the bells and whistles.....

I got mine off Craigslist for 200 or 250. It's a really nice one! It also is where I hang my laundry......

Give some thought to a stationary bike, with a big seat. There a little cheaper, and zero impact on your joints.

It was the laundry holder until it was moved to the basement. Now it's a dust collector in the corner. It's possible they wouldn't miss it! But I'll make an offer!
