I'll try to put this as politely as I can...most the names of the people who owned the horses, if you notice, are Native American names. Whether or not this factored into, which would not surprise me if it did, there is unfortunately some racism that still takes place here.
That or someone recently watched The Godfather.
Some people are just mean, too.
