Sharin doesn't have anything to do with the Spur Up bits, just her own Sharin Hall Series that Dave makes for her. The Spur Up are the Sue Smith bits. I have the 13 and I really like it. Depending on the mouthpiece you have in it dictates the results you will get. I have used the 07 mouthpiece and the BA. I prefer the 07 but the BA gives more direct pull and more poll control. With the 13 I get nice roundness and flex and my young horse packs it better. The reaction time is gradual because of the slip you get with the egg shape. That is my experience. I have several of the Spur Up bits and haven't found one yet that I don't like. Great quality and all very balanced bits. . Go to Open Buckles Performance Horses on FB and she can explain all of the Spur Up bits in depth to you as she is the sales rep in the US for Dave. She is also Mandolin here on BHW but doesn't frequent here much anymore.

I have not used the Sue Smith version, but I have the old Carol Goostree version. They called it the Simplicity II. I really like it. I've had quite a few horses that really liked it.
