Thinking of purchasing a horse walker.  My horses have been on them before, but I've never owned one.  Can you please share your opinions on what brands, maintenance, size, etc. to help me with my decision?  I live in TX and have a budget, so I probably won't be getting the cadillac model.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to share your info.

Go to Priefert--I think they still make the old fashion kind. There is another place in TX that makes them but they are higher.

http://hotwalkers.com     I've had one of these for 14 years now. They are built solid and can handle anything a horse can do to it    I've only replaced the electric motor once and I use it several hours a day about 5 days a week.

These are very reasonably priced. Priefert is 2 1/2 times the cost. We have been looking at a free style. I want one really bad.  http://www.horsewalkersbyprowalk.com/misc/prowalk-models-and-prices.pdf

We have a Trojan 6 horse 60ft walker. They are out of Witchita Falls TX. We have had ours for about 8 years & have never had a problem. It has a computerized box that I can set different levels of speed, time, or programs. Love it!! You might check them out. They have lots of different models & options

Thanks everyone for your input, opinions and mostly helpful info.  It's good to know what lasts and what companies make good products and the maintenance because I'm the one that will have to take care of walker.  I'll check out the sites mentioned and call the companies for further info.
